Well, if that''s the way it want down, then so be it. I don;t have any proof otherwise. So I''ll take it at face value. That said, I would have to applaud Bush for forcing the surge, firing Casey, and getting the job done. Beautiful work. Whatever it takes. Just win baby! Kill them all.

Imagine, a democracy in the heart of the middle east. Good job.

[i have not seen any planes flying into buildings since then..i would say it worked!!]

aristotle, is that you?

so up until 9/10 the same thing could have been said ... and the policy would have seemed appropriate to prevent planes from flying into buildings, no?

in fact, on 9/10/2001, john ashcroft, the then attorney general, believed that the budget for anti-terrorism that the clinton admin had allocated was too high, and proposed to cut the dollars spent on anti-terror. he submitted his revised budget proposal on 9/10/01.

and today you sit there and say ''dont worry ... be happy ... no planes are flying into buildings''

that''s some bullet proof logic, aristotle!

Did we send thousands of troops to Normandy because the Germans attacked Pearl Harbor?

Did the aircraft carrier with the "Mission Accomplished" banner fail it''s mission?

Whine when things are bad, pre-surge, and whine louder when there is some real success, post-surge. Our troops deserve all the cheering and support we can give.

Better start rooting for the good guys. Sometimes the truth is simpler than you want to believe.

If everything the U.S. does is bad, why do so many people want to be here? Why do you whiners want to be here?

Bob Woodward commented that a new breakthrough weapon exists that can target specific terrorists and al qaeda leaders in Iraq.

Please be advised that if this weapon really existed then the Iraq war would be over. Not only that we would have captured or killed all the Al Qaeda leaders in Iraq, but also theoretically catching Osama bin Laden would be easy.

I''m not saying the technology is impossible. For example, it is possible to plant sound and video micro-devices all over the country side. These devices could narrow-in on conversations and visible activity. Through the coordinated use of these devices, a person could be targeted. Unfortunately the processing required to obtain correct and actionable information is enormous needing lots of human intervention. I seriously doubt that Iraq has been outfitted with such a sophisticated surveillance system. Why would such top secret information be leaked to Bob Woodward? Perhaps our military is hoping that a lot of al qaeda will burst out laughing and give their positions away.

McCain and Republicans were so wrong about our terrorist enemies they went to the wrong country.

Then McCain was wrong just on Iraq so many times......like:

"There''s not a history of clashes that are violent between Sunnis and Shiahs. So I think they can probably get along." [MSNBC, 4/23/03]

...uh what?......or this precious one:

"I''m confident we''re on the right course." [ABC News, 3/7/04]

.................or how about the VETO proof GI bill that McCain was against?.......many Democrats and many Republicans supported that bill. CAN''T DENY THAT RIGHT?

........Why, when Congress finally comes together to agree on something, McCain stood with the Neo-con Republican tragedians of our country to stop the bill? I don''t get it...........

McCain has lost his way. He supports bringing the troops home, in body bags for a hundred years...............

He wasn''t tortured in Viet Nam, according to his own republican standards; he received advanced interrogation techniques, of which he approves of nowadays.

Where are the REAL Republicans?

The Iraq war:
TWO TRILLION American tax dollars down the drain.

Hey Bush.....my grand kids'' thank you in advance for making them pay taxes tomorrow while helping those working in the industrial military complex keep their jobs today!!

We are blowing about a trillion tax dollars in Iraq, so who cares about a few chairs for some Air Force brats.

Halliburton should build some more showers; we can''t have our soldiers showering in safety while our Generals relax to death in leather chairs.

I''''m so glad that the Republican Party has blown millions of their donations on hate ads talking down Obama''''s experience.

Now all those donations were a total WASTE!!

I guess that''''s what I''''ve learned over the last 8 years; that conservatives are horrible spenders of the Americans%u2019 dollar.

yep..we could have done it for a penny...we were crazy for wasting good money

Does Woodward have a security clearance to receive secret classified material? He has now disclosed a secret military program for capturing/killing our enemies. The disclosure that the program even exists is a violation. So fine of him not to mention the details: did he have government approval to even talk about it?

Similarly, the mention of alleged spying appears to be a violation. Who gave him this information? Some are prosecuted for passing on much less sensitive information (in private) while Woodward discloses national security secrets in public.
"Country First" for some; "Bob First" for him.

Any Grand Juries read the paper? Does the Military / State Department care that its personnel are giving extremely sensitive secret materials to reckless reporters?

Bob Woodward should be ashamed and shamed in polite company. One can only hope for indictment.

am not opposed to all wars. I''''m opposed to dumb wars."
Barack Obama Oct. 2, 2002

Here''''s how John McCain called it:

"But the point is that, one, we will win this conflict. We will win it easily." [MSNBC, 1/22/03]

''''It''''s clear that the end is very much in sight.'''' [ABC, 4/9/03]

Do Republicans still think John McCain was closer to the mark on Iraq?

if a dumb war stopped those arabs from flying any more airplanes into our buildings..then, yes, i am for McCain
