"There is no sense in responding to the negative comments because they are from ignorant, racist people that really have no clue about what they are talking about. For all those who have expressed an interest in helping our Iraqi allies that endangered their lives and those of their families in order to stand shoulder to shoulder with American soldiers, go to www.thelistproject.org. There are many ways to help. You do not have to be a lawyer or speak Arabic to help.

Negative? How about our opinion? Just because it isn''t the same as yours doesn''t mean we are wrong. Anyone that is "negative" is saying the same thing....help our own here!

Why don''t you go over there and help? Why didn''t you start a mission on 60 minutes for our homeless? those that have lost their homes due to the economy? the jobless? the single mothers who can''t get their child support? the senior citizens with $800 worth of medications a month and a $900 check?

Spare me. Enough is enough. It''s just a scam for those people to get over here.

I joined these boards and posted for the first time today. And this is the last time also, the ignorance and fear is just overwhelming. Don''t believe the hate and stereotypes.

"Kirk, Why don''''t you just go to Iraq and protect the refuges there. There are to many Americans that are in need of help here in the U.S.A. We are not at war on Iraq to rescue them and bring them back to the U.S.A. There are to many Americans that need help here. If you are such a saint help us! Should we point our fingers to you when one of your refuges take responablity for killing thousands more of our own U.S.A. citizens here?"

I second that vote! Why aren''t you helping there?????

Just what we need, a million arab moslems. And worse, down the road their children and grandchildren who will hate being brought over to live in the "Great Satan" who will be fodder for terrorist recruiting. Thanks, George, we''ll never live you down.

"Surprise, surprise another "America is bad" story from Scott. But as much as he tried to twist the facts and make America the bad guy again, it seems to me each of the families resettled in America with many, many who have come before. I guess it was just a fluke that they have all gotten in.

So Scott, I just a have few questions about your reporting. 1.) Why was there no mention of the brutal killers who want to harm their own people!! Where is the story on that?? Only the implication that America is bad and we can''''t get anything right! 2.) Did the US promise the Iraqi''''s resettlement in the US as part of their service? (No, but you forgot to mention that) 3.) Did the US pay the Iragi''''s for their service? (Yes, and very well, but you forgot to mention that as well) 4.) Did the Iraqi''''s know their work with the US would be dangerous before they signed up? (Yes, but you forgot to mention that) 5.) If America is so bad and so inept as you point out every chance you get (not to mention your theory that everyone in the world hates us) then why are all these people wanting to come to the US?

I am not implying that we should not help these people as a matter of principle and honor - we should. I am only questioning Scott''''s telling of the story."

AMEN again!

Give me a break!

I''m really impressed with the number of times you had to post. You know so much? Have you been there? My stepson just came back from there HELPING them rebuild. Do you have any clue what it is like there? Those people PLAY DUMB. They won''t learn to build, fight or take care of themselves. Our soldiers are trained in months what they haven''t learned in the years we have been there. They DO deserve our help? They are getting it. Our innocent children are shipped over there and giving their lives to fight for THEIR freedom and they won''t fight for themselves. We have spent billions of dollars fighting for them and rebuilding so they can blow it all up. Have you ever lived near their communities? Wait til you have to listen to their prayers over loud speakers. The recent bombs in Baghdad came from protected civilian areas. Guess what! They couldn''t be bombed. If you think they are so precious, go over there and do your thing. You can do so much more for them there! We don''t have the money here. So....are you footing the bill? Or is our government? You putting them in your home? If so, then my opinion means nothing to you. You go right ahead and do it. Spend your money and put your house up and give them your job.

"Why have other neighboring nations like Jordan, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia etc. refused to open their doors and welcome these refugees permanently?"

I believe the cultural fault lines presents a dynamic not really understood in the West. Though sympathetic; countries may be at odds to how best deal with the refugees. Like Powell stated "We break it, we buy it" - the problem lies in the lack of foresight of Rumsfield. Jordon and Syria are the choice of depature; they are overwhelmed and may be pressured by NATO reps. No easy answer however the clear one is for Iraq to address their growing exidous. In today''s eletronic herd of globalization; no one wants to "own" a country or their people.

"I hear part of Detroit Michigan is controlled by Muslins who have converted the city to a small Iraq." I lived in that area years ago. It was EAST DEARBORN. The woman were dropped off here by their husbands, left with brand new appliances, furniture and bikes for their kids, they ended up on our welfare system and the husbands were never seen again. They attacked "americans" in groups. While a bunch of them were attacking a man on 4th of July, a very peaceful neighbor went to save him and was beaten by them. The kids would cuss you out with every american swear word they could throw at you while their parents stood there oblivious to what they were saying. On a regular basis, we had to listen to their prayers over the loud speakers. Unlike americans who preach silently in their churches, they were allowed to preach over loud speakers to be heard for miles.....why? Because they brought their lives and cultures here to live. They don''t want to be americanized. They want to turn america into the land they left! This is not racist - this is experience.
Believe what you want. I lived with them. These are the same people who wanted to get away from the violence and killing in their own country and brought it here. They don''t know any different. It''s their religion and way of life. So, You fight to get them in here and you will have only yourselves to thank for what follows.

Scott,

Appreciate you bringing this story to everyone''s attention and the U.S. should open its doors as quickly as possible. Though it does give the U.S. a black eye, you failed to explore one glaring question:

Why have other neighboring nations like Jordan, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia etc. refused to open their doors and welcome these refugees permanently? They do the same with the Palestinian refugees. They are quick to criticize the West, yet they do very little to lift a finger to do anything that would make positive difference within their own region. It''s most hypocritical. How about covering that for a change instead of only shining the light on the U.S.?

The California Counties of San Diego, Imperial, Orange,Riverside, San Bernardino,Ventura, and Los Angeles each could use at least 250,000 Refugees from Iraq. As legal citizens they will be a vast improvement over the Illegal Aliens from Spanish-speaking countries. Kick out the Illegals; bring in those from Iraq who have demonstrated their friendship and assistance to Americans.

I also hear part of New York has been converted to a small city by the Chinese. Maybe we should all start fearing Chinatown also. I detest racists.
