- I never write, but this time....this get''s my goat like no tomorrow. How dare the gov. paid for this? How dare the gov. care for illegals, when you can''t care for those born in USA? How dare the blood-sucking lawyer seek restitution for illegal-Criminals? Too many children, women, seniors, and families in America have no healthcare at all, and you want us to foot the bill. Sue Mexico.

- The guards must have gotten their training at US prisons. The health care is worse than what the immigrants get. In fact, a few years ago, the Feds put some immigrants in New Hampshire, and then took them back because the health care was so horrible. The attitude was the same: all prisoners are faking illnesses. One prisoner had brain cancer and the tumor traveled to the spinal cord; he wasn''t treated. He is now paralyzed. Oh, well.

- I watched with great interest your story about the detainee and his cancer (Castaneda) I have been told...and I know not the truth...that prisoners who need an organ transplant get one BEFORE people on the waiting list who have been waiting for years. As a person on the kidney transplant list, I am asking you to report whether this is true. WHY would a prisoner get an organ ahead of law-abiding, hardworking, tax-paying citizens!!!!!!!!!!!! This is absurd. Is it true? It certainly would be a flipside to the story you reported tonight.

- Wrong way totally! We need to stop the Cuban, Mexicans, Asians, and frankly anyone who is not an American from gaining access to the United States. My country is not available any longer for immigration - we need to assure that the people of the United States are no longer subjected to this alien invasion. Can we count on George Bush to do the right thing? Of course not! We can''t count on George Bush to do anything except that which would do harm to the country. Immigration is over - we need mass deportation now.

- I''m tired of people coming to this country and complaining of ill treatment when we have millions of native born going without medical insurance, decent housing, proper nutrition and clothing. Why do we support other countries and even give social security benifets to aliens that have never even contributed to our SS system?

- What are we coming to? The key word here is ILLEGAL. Yes we have welcomed the entire world for decades, but it is by far out of control. I have a good friend from Vietnam (That is now an American Citizen)that says it best. You have two buses, if you have a card, you go to work on this bus, if you don''t.........you board this bus to go to a port of debarkation to go back to where you came from. We wonder why our taxes are high and our lawyers are plentiful!

- I think its a joke to try to portray a sob story with the main character being an illegal immigrant. So what are you saying, I, a legal citizen who plays by the rules and have broken no laws, should pay more taxes to make the government agency better so an illegal immigrant can get great medical care?!? What a joke.

- DO THEY PUT ANY OF THE CUBANS THAT LAND HERE IN DETENTION?
TO ME IT IS VERY UNFAIR WITH ALL THIS HULLABALOO ABOUT ILLEGAL MEXICANS WHEN THEY ARE SUCH HARD WORKERS AND DO WORK THAT OUR CITIZENS WON''T DO. I CONSTANTLY HEAR FROM CLIENTS THEIR STORIES OF WHAT VALUE THEIR MEXICAN WORKERS ARE.
AND THEN I HEAR STORIES OF HOW THE CUBANS NOT ONLY GET TO STAY BY JUST LANDING HERE BUT GET A $10,000 CHECK? A CLIENT TOLD ME HE FELT ASHAMED THAT HIS GRANPARENTS GOT HERE FROM CUBA IN THEIR 60''S AND STARTED COLLECTION SOCIAL SECURITY????? THEY DO NOT HAVE THINGS ANYWHERE NEAR AS BAD AS THE HAITIANS OR EVEN THE MEXICANS IN THEIR OWN COUNTRY. - Reply to this comment
- I simply do not care. If you are here illegally, tough. You are not entitled to John Hopkins medical care. You take your chances, if you live great, if you don''t, oh well. Taxpayers owe nothing to these individuals, nothing.
