- Well, that was very painful. I am so disappointed, but not surprised, to see Leslie once again, fawn, giggle, in general act inappropriately on what could have been an unbiased interview. The good news is I see other posts and can only hope that other viewers will see Scalia just as he is...someone I would not wanting deciding my fate in the courts. Although, that''s the point - he is deciding my fate.

- Justice Ginzberg in supporting her position regarding a "living Constitution" stated that "We the people.." did not include, her or Leslie Stahl or the black community. She is 100% right. The XV and XIX Amendments were required to corrected those injustices. The Constitution, as Originalists state can only be changed by Legislators, NOT activist judges.

- Obnoxious eurocentric-racist and certainly non-democratic. I am glad this show aired to exhibit this. This man apparently does not respect that the world does not revolve around him.

- Never in all the years that I have watched 60 minutes have I become so enraged that I have turned it off. Scalia did it. As the protester''s sign claimed, Scalia is a fascist. He is brilliantly disengenuous and fraudulent. Read Justice Steven''s opinion in the 2000 presidential election decision. That says it all. Gore brought it to the Court to get every vote counted under credible court supervision. Scalia led the charge to keep this from happening. He is a fascist. He would never dare submit to an interview with a capable constitutional scholar on the 2000 election. He did to the American electoral process what Pres. Jackson did to the Cherokee, which, by the way, he did in direct violation of a Supreme Court opinion to the contrary.

- Leslie should interview him with respect and not question based on her own views...she uses the term "I believe" at 3 times during the interview. Then when he responds with what he believes, everyone takes his response as challenging and abrasive. She questioned him remember........

- Major flaw in Leslie''s interview: Scalai claimed that it was Gore who brought the courts into the 2000 Election battle. Wasn''t it Bush, ie., Bush v. Gore???
She should have realized this & challenged him on it, instead of gladhandling and doing curtsies & genuflections.
Also, he doesn''t strike me as remotely intelligent, down-to-earth (very faux down-to-earth, in fact), or -- and imagine this -- a statesman. He''ll never be remembered as one of the great Justices. He''s just a shill. Bad job, 60 Minutes. usually you''re alot better than this! - Reply to this comment
- How can Leslie Stahl say Justice Scalia is charming in person -- in contrast to his writings -- based solely on her interview with him? He is incredibly nasty in person, not only to those people who appear before him at the Supreme Court, but also -- based on my personal experience, to those law students who have the temerity to ask him questions at the many forums he appears at off the record.

- Quoted from 60 Minutes -- with context:
"My job is to interpret the Constitution accurately. And indeed, there are anti-abortion people who think that the constitution requires a state to prohibit abortion. They say that the Equal Protection Clause requires that you treat a helpless human being that''s still in the womb the way you treat other human beings. I think that''s wrong. I think when the Constitution says that persons are entitled to equal protection of the laws, I think it clearly means walking-around persons. You don''t count pregnant women twice."
Oh really? Then what about Scott Peterson''s two convictions? - Reply to this comment
