So when they do find a way to target cancer cells with antibodies or some other method, the Kanzius device will provide a non-invasive, non-toxic, non-chemical method of killing them.

Which Drug Company do you work for?

It is amazing how biased people are against so call chemicals. You probably don''t take antibiotics when you have pneumonia either. This is almost beneath a reply except for the fact that the comment is so ignorant as to be probably genuine. I am not for drugs per se but a nonspecific method of irradiating the body with RF do not constitute a nontoxic and non-"invasive" method of treating cancer. In case you don''t understand what Mr. Kanzius''s invention really is--it is the same effect as putting tin foils(nano-gold) into your microwave and turning on the microwave (radiofrequency) power. Now imagine doing that with you inside the machine--sure the foil will still absorb more power and cook faster than you. His experiments consisted of wrapping the foils (injecting the nanoparticles) around something he wants to destroy and turning on the power--no more.

Finally, I don''t develop drugs but I do work with radiofrequency waves at levels that can cook people. There are very stringent safety guidelines for a reason. Mr. Kanzius is either a quack or a very very bad engineer/scientist. I suspect a little of both.

Interesting story. However, you should all visit lasemedinc.com to learn more about a cancer cure that is already in place. Dr. Carpenter at Lase Med Inc has a solid reputation of a successful cancer cures. The AMA won''t embrace her technology, and here is where I agree with many of the previous posters, because of the money angle. Her procedure is approved by the FDA. CBS should do a piece on Lase Med Inc. to really enlighten the people of a cancer cure already in place.

I hope Mr. Kansius takes his ideas to a country that will move forward on this cure. It deserves to be tested NOW!

It was surprising that 60 minutes'' scientific advisory committee didn''t challenge what the actual obstacles are in the ability to use Kanzius device. The obstacle has been and continues to be finding the antibodies that will work consistently from person to person. There is plenty of innovation and ingenuity going on out here in Silicon Valley. It is just important to understand what the real issues are and not get diverted by hype or skepticism.

So much skepticism? If this is a cure, it will change the world. I don''t know a single Doctor worth his degree that wouldn''t gladly find another job if people didn''t get sick. I want to know how I can invest in this device.

I did not see the 60 minutes CBS Radio Wave story as I was down in Australia at the World''s first and only fully operating Radio Wave Therapy clinic. Friends back home knowing I was down in Australia emailed me with the info.

This Australian clinic has been in operation for the last 30 years and was started by Dr John Holt. I live in North San Diego County, CA and travelled to Perth, Australia for 3 weeks of Radio Wave treatment for a cancer that had spread to the lung. You can visit this clinic at www.radiowaveclinic.com
You will view video at this site of "A Current Affair" TV current affairs program and you will note the tremendous success they have had over the last 30 years. It does work and I will be back in the USA next week and will certainly be promoting this approach to treatment. There are no side effects and the only inconvenience is the insertion of a PICC line in the upper arm for the duration of the treament (3 weeks)
The application forms and background for treatment can all be found on the website.
I look forward with interest to updates on the Radio Wave story as presented by CBS.

Addendum: Iron is required for cell division, and it is well known that many cancer cell types selectively accumulate iron for this purpose. Most cancers have large number of iron attracting transferring receptors on their cell surface compared to normal cells.

Saw on 60minutes about John Kanzius cancer cure; where they are trying to use gold nanoparticles to destroy cancer. I would recommend giving the cancer patient, iron supplements for a couple of weeks and then zapping the whole body or the affected organ, to destroy the cancer growth. The cancer will absorb the excess iron and concentrate it, then it would be a simple matter of heating the iron up with the radio waves, to destroy the cancer.

Look up Insulin Potentiation on the web! This is not a well advertised outpatient cancer treatment. Insulin is administered for a period to open up the cancer cell receptors that crave it. The receptors open up for a clear pathway into the cancer cell nucleus. Then, a chemo drug (at a much lower dosage than normally administered to reduce toxicity) is administered to the patient. The efficacy of the chemo drug is multiplied because it is like a "smart bomb" down a chimney stack. The chemo agent inside the cancer cell nucleus obliterates it. It has been reported that from as few as 6 to as many as 23 sessions of this treatment have resulted in total remission.

Where Kansius differs from Rife is that his system depends on difficult to obtain gold nanoparticles, something that was unheard of in Rife''s time. Some big Pharma company will get the concession on gold nanoparticles and rake it in. Rife offered nothing for his more politically-connected competitors, so he was destroyed.

I wish this man would get more attention than meryl streep winning an award. I like movies and all, but look at how much this man cares about the rest of the world to share something that can elliminate cancer cells. Kudos to Kanzius!

Quite interesting. Someone should first look into the work of Peter Gordon in 1985 using ultrasound to determine the resonant frequency of the cancer cells, and than using magnetic resonance to destroy the cells. Got the idea patented and everything. Cancer will not be cured by "Modern Medicine".

This treatment approach has great potential. The story down played the difficulty in finding a nanotube with an attached antibody that could seek out just the rouge cancer cells. It is these undetectable cells that sometimes kill the patient. Also, many tumors are poorly differentiated, meaning they are not clearly defined. They have tentacles like an octopus that can stretch far from the primary tumor. Finding the rouge cells was mentioned as a challenge to be overcome in the 60 Minutes story, but the seriousness of the challenge was understated.

Researchers have been seeking ways to target chemo drugs to attack just the rouge cells for years. Once the chemo drug finds the cell, it must then find the right pathway to get inside the cell to destroy it. Nanotubes may have an advantage here. If they can adhere to the outside of the rouge cells (without the need to find a pathway to get inside the cell), the nanotubes can be heated and the cells may be able to be destroyed from the outside. This would be a truly remarkable advancement.

It will not be an immediate panacea in the war on cancer, but it has the potential to be a powerful tool in the cancer war arsenal over the next decade. One downside that crossed my mind was for people like me that have metal implants. Would a treatment like this be able to differentiate between metal implants and the metal in a nanotube? Miracle cure or hype? Stay tuned, I guess we%u2019ll find out.

John Kanzius and Dr. Stephen Curley already have quite a few cancer treatment centers supporting their research, including essentially all the cancer treatment centers and Lee Memorial Hospital in Fort Myers, Florida, the city that is adjacent to John Kanzius'' winter home on Sanibel Island. I understand that there is also considerable support in Erie, Pennsylvania, Kanzius'' summer home town, where John Kanzius has been awarded a key to the city.
Dr. Curley believes that FDA approval will be relatively easy to obtain because gold is already approved for human injection in arthritis treatments, so the use of gold nanoparticles should not be difficult to get approved. Also, their intention is to find an already-approved molecule that has an affinity for cancer cells, to which to bind the gold nano-particles.
One reason why there should not be significant damage to adjacent healthy cells is because the cancer cells only need to be heated to about 160 degrees F to kill them, so they don''t need to be "boiled" as an earlier commenter suggested, and that much heating can be achieved in less than 5 minutes of radio wave treatment. Dr Curley is a world renowned oncologist, normally treating only the most difficult hepatic cancers, and his leadership of the research will add immense credibility to this approach.

Besides Dr. Rife, there is a Dr. Holt in Australia who is still alive and treating cancer. Both of these great people have used radio waves to treat people. I suggest that you seach for Dr. John Holt and get up to speed. He has 20 some letters behind his name.

Genius Royal Raymond Rife perfected the frequency generator in the 1930''s. . Dr Rife was able to destroy cancer, bacteria and viruses with specific frequencies without harming healthy cells, also. His invention was hailed as the "great cancer cure"- which it was....unfortunately his discovery was squashed due to the simultaneous invention and promotion of antibiotics by the emerging pharmaceutical industry. The Rife generator which actually "cured" disease was not good for business- at least the pharmaceutical business. Royal Raymond Rife was subsequently vilified, marginalized and destroyed by those who stood to lose from his great work.He died alcoholic and penniless. I hope better for this gentleman.

Hasn''t this already been around since about 1930? Check out "Royal Raymond Rife". Don''t get me wrong though, I''m glad now it''s getting the media attention it should''ve gotten a long time ago. Who cares how we get there, lets just pray to God it works...
