Tells 60 Minutes That Doubting Global Warming Is Man-Made Is Akin To Believing Earth Is Flat

- It appears to me that CBS is posturing itself for a nice share of that 300 million in ad revenues that Gore will be spreading about over the next 2 years. How transparent.

- It is interesting that in the 60 Minutes interview, it was revealed that Gore dug out his "old" slides on climate change for his movie. "Old" is the operative word here. One of his most highlighted slides is the Ice core sample slides that supposedly show a correlation between CO2 and temperature going back several hundred thousand years. And, when those samples were originally analyzed by scientists, it did appear that there was a clear correlation between CO2 and temperature. Since that time, however, instrumentation and measurement techniques have improved to the point where one can actually distinguish which occurred first--the CO2 rise or the temperature increase--and guess what, the temperature increased first followed by the CO2. In other words, Gore had the cause and effect backwards, and what''s more, these improved data were available when he produced the movie. He "conveniently" forgot to mention that in "Inconvenient Truth", and continued to use his old slides. That is but one of well over a dozen inaccuracies and outright falsehoods claimed in his film. I strongly urge 60 Minutes and all reading this post to go to ICECAP.us and just look through the articles that are actually based on data rather than alarmist hype.

- I am very disappointed by Lesley Stahl''s reporting on Al Gore. I thought that 60 minutes was un-bias in its reporting. Why should Leslie accept accept all of Gore''s posturing since he has won a Nobel price? Sunday''s report on Al Gore was rather gratuitous and it really came across as the reporter''s (and hopefully not 60 minutes) beliefs of what is transpiring on the environment. We all want to protect the environment but we want to base our solutions on facts and not on alarmist propaganda. We need a debate, which implies scientists'' opinion from both sides, on this issue. It seems that anyone that is not supportive of his cause is against the environment. I expected much more from a program that I consider exceptional from a journalistic stan point. Again, I am truly disappointed and I look forward to an upcoming program with both sides of the argument. And on a final note, political ideology should not stand in the way of finding a practical, scientific and logical solution to something that concerns everyone.

- Of course that hypocrite Al Gore is flying all over the world as one of the biggest contributers to green house emissions.

You need to learn how to think outside the box. Of course, we do not want everyone flying all over the place for no good reason, but Gore has an important message that needs to get out. I''''m glad to see him on the road and in the air getting that message out. We can certainly afford to have a handful of americans who fly around to do important work such as Al Gore. Certainly, it is more important for Gore to fly around getting the message out about protecting our environment than it is for Bush to fly around spouting empty proclamations like "Mission Accomplished." - Reply to this comment
- Talk about a snow job this had to be the best yet. This is like catching fish with dynamite.
Gore tried to make out that he is conserving energy with his solar panels, I believe 31 was the number. Well I have 14 and that only produced 2940 KW for a 2000 square foot house, and that only produces half of my energy, he has 8000 foot mansion so he should have a least 112 for him to say he is energy neutral.
Why don''t you do a segment on the other side of the NON-global warming issue.
This is a hoax and a money making scheme selling carbon credits, let me know who I can get a piece of this action. - Reply to this comment
- When Al Gore ran for president in 2000, he was often ridiculed as inauthentic and wooden. Today he is passionate and animated, a man transformed. His documentary, "An Inconvenient Truth," won an Oscar, and last year he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize
No he is just amazed how stupid we all are.. - Reply to this comment
- The left leaning of 60 Minutes ...Is America really that stupid?...

LMAO No, just the rush&fox fans that''ve been convinced that anybody not goose-stepping to weird non-logic comedy routines is "left-leaning". - Reply to this comment
- The left leaning of 60 Minutes is incredible. What is more incredible is that they don''t seem to even try to hide that fact. They will tell an absolute bold faced lie and think nothing of it. You can usually watch just a short bit of their program and you will come across such a lie and you can immediately discount the whole story. In the crazy Al Gore story Stahl proclaimed Gore won the popular vote in the presidential election and the will of the people was overturned by the Supreme Court. This of course is bull. If 60 Minutes would like to check, a recount of the Florida ballots was performed, oddly enough by the media, and it was found that Bush had won by an even larger margin that previously thought. Of course this was mostly ignored by shows such as 60 Minutes because the outcome did not fit their agenda. How is this show still on the air? Is America really that stupid? This show should be on saturday morning along with Scooby Doo.

- Notice that Gore never debates anyone on this issue, and he falls back on name calling rather than discussing data and analysis by real scientists with world class credentials. I invite 60 Minutes to take a look at the web site ICECAP.us for a look at some actual scientific data and analysis on earth''s climate. Articles there are written by atmospheric physicists and climatologists with, shall we say, somewhat more impressive credentials than a guy who flunked out of divinity school but proclaims himself an expert on the world''s climate. Several of the articles actually analyze Gore''s film from an accuracy standpoint, and it fails miserably. As another example of poor journalism, last week all the major news outlets were showing photos of this big ice mass collapsing in Antarctica and attributing it to global warming. None of these articles mentioned, however, that rather than this anecdotal information, we actually do have a comprehensive and well characterized data set on the extent of the Antarctic ice mass from 1979 to present based on satellite images. That data clearly shows that the Antarctic Ice mass is at a record high for the 1979-2007 period and is on track for another record year in 2008. Why would none of the articles last week mention actual aggregate data and only rely on dramatic photos? It''s either poor journalism, bias, or an agenda. Either way, it''s not objective science or objective news. See ICECAP.us!

- It''s all b.s. And the press is all googoo about the b.s.
You guys are smarter than that...or are you only as smart as the teleprompter ? ..Pretend it is a republican you are interviewing. You like to chew them up pretty good.. - Reply to this comment
- Are there any good mathematicians out there with accredited knowledge on the environment who have done a bit of scribbling on how Co2 will accelerate the growth of vegetation? If there even was a majority of global warming that is man made, and seeing that plants breath Co2, wouldn''t that be the Earths natural "Check and Balance" self correction? I haven''t heard anything comment on this point so I thought I would post it here since I just "thunk" it up.

- Last August alone, Gore burned through 22,619 kWh%u2014guzzling more than twice the electricity in one month than an average American family uses in an entire year. As a result of his energy consumption, Gore%u2019s average monthly electric bill topped $1,359.
Posted by maxify55 at 06:48 AM : Apr 01, 2008-------Whoa, the electric company better install a Zerk fitting on that meter so they can give it a shot of "environmentally friendly" grease every month. That things got to be red lining the max rpm''s. Yeah, better get it done before summer comes when all those AC units kick in. - Reply to this comment
- All I can say people is that I hope Al Gore has friends with very deep pockets, because he is about to get sued for billions, and that is him personally with all his companies and organizations as co-defendants. It has started in London. ( judges opinion, his film. scare mongering, and basically flawed.)

Your name fits!! LMAO Can you imagine some attorney trying to argue in front of a judge that the film sighted by the International Scientific Community as being ground breaking in the effort to stop Global Warning is somehow harmed someone? LOL An Attorney attempting to convince a judge that this man awarded the Nobel Prize is somehow harming Human Kind? LOL They''d be laughed out of the building!! Yep your name say''s it all. - Reply to this comment
