You mean ZOOPHILIA, you can say that word here! not so different when you believe that animals are not simply lumps of BEEF on the hoof for the eating, that they have 96% or so of the SAME genetic DNA material that we have. When you consider an animal as being almost on par with a person you have respect and love for that animal in your life and consider them your life-partner.
Dogs for example do not cheat, lie, play mind games or any of that, they are honest in their actions and interactions. If you, me and a large dog were on the titanic and only one life raft made for two and I got in first and had to decide on pulling you up or the dog, well, lets just say I hope you can do the dog paddle all the way to shore and thought to put on some shark repellent.

Well said. That probably explains why atheists tend to be more ethical and less violent and cruel. We realize that a person only goes around once for a short time here on earth. So, rather than make people on earth miserable based on silly superstitious beliefs (and the promise of paradise hereafter), we treat others as though their time on earth is precious. And, so long as the religious keep their religion to themselves and don''t try to force it onto others, we have no problem letting them believe whatever fantasy they need to believe to get through the day. Just don''t use that superstition as a justification for a law or a reason to oppress others or to deprive them of their rights.
