I emailed my Congressman and Senators about this issue after the 60 Minutes story. Today I phoned my Congressman''s office about it. My Congressman is on the House Judiciary Commmittee. The staffer who took my call was not familiar with the issue so I explained it to him.

Mine was just one call. If 100 people called they might do something. PLEASE take 5 minutes and call your Congressperson or Senator. Or, better yet, call a Congressperson who is on the Judiciary Committee:

60 Minutes and MSNBC are doing their part. We citizens must now take action. Please.

Thank you for showing the intestinal fortitude to actually air this. Even so, this should have been shown long before now, especially when a man''s entire life has been ruined for political gain. Please do the necessary follow-up on some of the facts that have been left dangling by this story.

Also, it has been made known that an Alabama station affiliate of yours claimed they experienced "technical difficulties" during only this segment of your broadcast. This station is known for being very critical of Mr. Siegelman, and is owned by a family that has donated huge sums to Republican candidates. This was no coincidence, and it is pure censorship - and very illegal.

You will go a long way toward minimizing the fallout to CBS by promptly and aggressively investigating this censorship yourself, and ending your relationship with this affiliate should you find evidence of intentional blocking. Then you should report that evidence and forward it to the Justice Department and Congress so that criminal charges may be filed against those who would deliberately censor the news for political purposes.

Karl Rove and the others are the ones who should be behind bars for their abuses of the Constitution at every turn. Please dig deeper into the Siegelman tragedy

Thank you CBS for airing this story. Please follow up. This type of politics must be stopped for our democracy to survive. Much of the responsibility for protecting citizens from becoming political prisioners rests with the media.

60 Minutes proves again why it remains a lonely voice for relevant, jarring investigative journalism amid a field of infotainment and sensationalized opinion-debate.

This story is outrageous. And only more so because of an inexcusable halo of silence cast around it by a lazy (or complicit) local and national media.

60 Minutes must not let this story lapse from the national consciousness. Especially since it seems no other journalistic bodies possess even the hint of professional or civic responsibility it takes to recognize the undeniable public and political value of this investigation.

This cadre of Alabama partisans casually destroy the lives of their political competitors with 3rd world tactics and scorched-earth ruthlessness. And they count on media lethary, apathy and complicity as part of their calculus.

But making this travesty known means uniting citizens and politicians in angry, righteous scrutiny of Alabama''s shameful mechinations. This is fundamentally unamerican and it must be confronted openly, politically and morally.

Thank you, 60 Minutes, for helping sound the alarms. Now please don''t let it slip from the forefront.

Please pursue this vital investigative report into the root of the problem with American politics today! I believe that supporting the constitution and being a true patriot is now being replaced by loyalty to your political party first. Somehow pushing the Republican Party goals has superceeded legalities, morality and fairness. This story exemplifies that thesis. This is an Edward R Murrow type story. When do we say enough is enough?

60 Minutes just aired in Hong Kong and is already hot. Congratulations on airing this story - we have no grounds to preach to China about corruption until this is rooted out.

Whose idea was it to air this very important story on the same night as the Oscars? Another instance of mainstream media kowtowing to the demands of this administration.

Dear 60 Minutes,

Thank you for pursuing the Don Siegelman case. It''s Gulag stuff. Karl Rove and the others are the ones who should be behind bars for their abuses of the Constitution at every turn. ("Let me count the ways--") It seem a "FREE SIEGLEMAN" tee-shirt might be in order. Please continue your investigation.

Please dig deeper into the Siegelman tragedy. The 60 Minutes report was great, but only scratched the surface. Siegelman was the victim of election fraud and his imprisonment was allowed by members of a corrupt Justice Dept. to cover up that crime.

Also, why was there a 60 Minutes broadcast black out during the airing of this segment in Alabama?

Karl Rove should dangle by the neck from the highest tree for treason. This evil thug is as despicable as he is fat and ugly. No wonder his mother committed suicide.

The link given by jglDuc gives an even more detailed account. Amazing that an utter thug like Rove can usurp so much power to nearly destroy our entire system of government.

I strongly support further investigation of the Siegeleman episode. This could serve as a wakeup call for my native Alabama. There''s always hope. And great job by 60 Minutes.

Please, CBS, continue to pursue this story! Nice job by Mr. Pelley, but the story didn''t touch on the election fraud. Please rewind the story to the night of the election when Repugnacan operatives "found" a slew of Bob Reilly votes that threw the election to him. Sure they did. Just another instance among many of Repugnacan election fraud in the USA.

60 Minutes please stay on this story and please double check that all your affiliate''s receivers are in order before further broadcasting on this matter. A full scale investigation by the head of CBS of the Alabama affiliate should be taking place. Another 60 Minutes story in itself I would say.

Do NOT stop investigating the Siegeleman story! This is yet one more blatant example of the corruption of the Bush Administration. They have proved once again they will use any means possible to squash any threat to their complete control of all of us. I truly believe they will not stop until they declare Marshall Law and cancel the November elections.

Thanks for introducing this important story. This is the most relevant reporting 60 Minutes has done in years. Please follow up on some very important aspects of the story that were not addressed in this short segment, such as election theft, the link between prosecutor misconduct and the Federal Prosecutor scandal, and Siegelman being shuffled around various prisons and barred from talking with the press. Keep it up!
