Why do we have the FDA? All we ever see anymore is the FDA giving into the drug companies while people die from the drugs in question. The FDA is not for the consumer, but for the drug companies.

The government watch dogs are out of control anymore and only work for big corporations. Why have them at all? They do more harm than they do good. Just ask all the families that lost loved ones ove rthe past years. Our government if failing the people more and more.

1. They lied us into a war of distraction, at the same time missed a golden opportunity to smash the breeding ground of terrorism, with the whole world on our side,too. Around 4000 dead so far. But they believe Saddam was a real threat to us.
2. They muzzled government scientists on environmental issues, treating us to some most creative Orwellian language ever. They wanted to make sure them scientific reports were saying they believe they should say...
3. They gutted the FDA and made it very business friendly. But then, the leader,shrub, told us repeatedly that he wouldn''t do anything harmful to business when he was originally running for office... We''re finding out how serious he was about that - 1000 lives a month serious in this one single hideous case. But they believe that business is what this country is all about...The appropriate regulatory agencies should be lapdogs run by the business they are supposed to oversee...that''s what they believe - its all about business, y''know, turnin'' a nickel. Medicine is just another way of doin'' that. Shrub probably learned that from his butt buddy, Ken Lay.

I think something should be done about FDA, a complete overhaul and clean-up, the Big Pharma is running our country along with the Power elite and their technoligy clinics, the green groups and everyone else who has not been duly elected. My husband is going in for a procedure on his heart in a few days, this story makes me feel swell, they tried to put him on Coumadin/warfarin but he had a bad reaction to it so they had to opt for something else, this procedure is a cure so he won''t have to take coumadin, well duh, why not just do that in the first place? he still has to take coumadin for a month after the procedure, its rat poison, thats what it is, period.Dupont makes it to kill rats, it was never for human consumption before. I also think the FDA needs annual reviews and monitoring as well. And should be monitored or investigated by a body/independent organization citizens of the USA, who are selected not by education or if they have monetary interest in any pharmaceutical company etc., ...but should chosen like a juror is.

The FDA and pharmaceutical companies are not separated like they should be but more like they are one in another.

The FDA used to be for the people now they are for the money.

I had open heart surgery 9-15-07 to replace my aortic valve and was given this drug, I thank God that i am still alive. Should I be aware of any long term effects from this drug?

The FDA and the drug industry need a massive overhaul.

THey are far too in bed with each other. THe FDA needs to cultivate a career track independent from the drug industry.

Also there needs to be a huge increase in prosecutorial investigation of drug industry practices. There are absolute sociopaths at high levels in many drug companies-- and they need to be rooted out by fair, careful, but probing investigations.

That''s the company that ran the factory part of Auschwitz and paid for most of the cost of building the place. They also developed Zyclon B but had it manufactured by a smaller company to have some semblance of deniability.

I am 100% in agreement to your comment. I know first hand about these things and the sad thing is that the FDA is almost making money as was Bayer. They made their money now its time for them to be held accountable for the death of thousand of people.

This is one of the problem with pharmaceutical companies, they hired people they think are educated but they are not and they are usually white males.
