- John Negroponte [USA Director of Intelligence] visited Pakistan upon the Bhutto crises 2-3 moths ago. He did NOT order Bhutto killed. But Negroponte gave Musharef [spell?] USA''s guarantee to support Musharef regime as the most useful fight againt Al Kaida [spell?]. USA''s intelligence shall NEVER help who-why killed Bhutto!
Negroponte was USA ambassador to Honduras in the 1970s when there were anti-USA guerrillas were operating in Guatemala, El Salvador and Nicaragua. Negroponte in Honduras [so-called Land Aircraft carrier] oversaw USA''s fight againt the Central American leftist guerrillas. Whenever Uncle Sam coughs, some countries catch cold.
Pakistan caught cold in Bhutto''s death when Negroponte coughed 2-3 months ago upon the Bhutto crieses!!! - Reply to this comment
- In her interview with President Pervez Musharraf, Lara Logan represented the ignorant and insulant attitude that is so prevelant in this country. How can the US even begin to question his motives or his record when our own president is such a failure.

- Al Kaida [spell?] did NOT have anything to gain in Bhutto''s death, Musharef [spell?] had [still has] much to gain in Bhutto''s death! Gunman was NOT a suicide bomber. His gun was rigged to a bomb in his supposed bullet-proof jacket. The bomb exploded upon his pulling the trigger, killing him. Thus Musharef''s agents eliminated witness to Musharef''s plot to assassinate Bhutto. Majority of Pakistanis can NOT see the point of a bomb in the gunman''s jacket rigged to his gun to explode upon shooting the gun. Dirty macabre plot of Musharef''s agents!!!

- What was Lara Logan thinking when she spoke to the President of Pakistan with such disdain? Not only was she disrespectful, but what exactly did she accomplish in the interview? I didn''t learn anything new, but certainly felt humiliated as part of the "American people want to know" statements. The American people didn''t chose to send Bhuto into Pakistan to run for an election, no one asked me what I thought and I''m sure most other Americans would agree that they had no part of this charade. This was the making of a government that wants to manipulate the outcome of countries that we use at our own discretion. In the future Ms. Logan, please be careful who you refer to as "wanting to know" in your statements with heads of states, and if you''re going to represent the American people, please try and do so with respect and dignity. It''s good to challenge important people, but not by insulting them.

- Disgusting. This interview was pure fodder. Lara Logan''s tone was accusatory and she was clearly biased. Her immaturity was quite apparent with her insinuations.
She accomplished absolutely nothing in this interview other than establishing the fact she doesn''t care about the unbiased truth, she cares about making a name out of herself... Yes it''s that apparent.
If 60 Minutes continues to send up these sort of rookies to bat. I''m better off watching CNN. - Reply to this comment
- The interview with President Musharraf was the most meaningless. The only point the Reporter wanted to make was he was somehow involved in Ms. Bhutto''s death.
There appears to be a conspiracy in Western Media - they always send pretty young women as Reporters to Islamic Countries-to offend them and make them uncomfortable.
It is the same reason Ms. Bhutto was selected by Western Governements. The only reason for her selection was to impose a Woman as a Leader on an Islemic Country.
Ms. Bhutto had no credentials as an acomplished Leader inspite of being given the chance twice. During her rule disorder, corruption was rampant. - Reply to this comment
- This interview was very annoying. Lara Logan got to talk to a head of state as though he were an unruly child. Why? Because of the power of the press. The logic of Musharraf being to blame for this, or for not finding Ben Laden is without proof. I hold 60 Minutes responsible for this lack of judgement. Remember, you are reporters, you do not have to lead or make difficult decisions.....just look good. You are only one click above used car salesmen!

- Ms. Bhuto''s death is newsworthy, and deserved the attention of 60 minutes. However, Ms. Logan, like several other western journalists who questioned President M was unprofessional, like the woman who accused him of having blood in his hands, when there is no evidence whatsoever. Just because you have a pretty face and have had the opportunity to sit in front of a camera, it does not mean that you can tarnish people at will, unless you work for some redneck rag. 60 minutes reporters ought to have more integrity. It was one of the dumbest interviews I have seen on 60 minutes. Same question being reported over and over... who cares if Musharaff was not friendly with Bhuto? Does that mean that he killed her? Do you think that all leaders (and people of ) developing nations go about killing their foes? How would Ms. logan feel if one were to ask whether she and her family were involved in killing south african blacks, merely because she is originally from South Africa?

- Lara Logan conducted a superb interview with Musharraf. Wish more journalists were as capable and intellectually clever as Logan. Well done!

Do not get me wrong. The murder of Ms. Bhutto was disgraceful and cowardly. I hope they catch the brains behind it, whoever they are.
I was just saying that the fact that she was brutally murdered does not automatically make her a patriot! Stealing millions from your people to support a life of luxury on three continents is not a sign of patriotism!

- 60 Minutes interview Pakistan''s president, Pervez Musharraf was disgraceful and disrespectful. Yes, ask difficult questions; Yes, try to dig deeper into the presidents personality; No, do not refrase the same question ove and over. Over all a poor interview.

- Sincityq - I refer you to the Burns article again. She was no Patrick Henry. She was corrupt and feudal. The fact that she has turned the reins of the PPP to Mr. 10% and Bilawal just proves it.

- They probably keep her around to balance Mike Wallace and Andy Rooney. She is definitely easier on the eyes :-)

- You are right, Technician22. 60 Mins is easily the most storied news program in the US, and one of the best in the world. When Ms. Logan comes on, Ed Bradly and Harry Reasoner probably start turning in their graves, and Dan Rather probably thanks his stars he is no longer associated with CBS News...

- Logan is an embarrassment to the proud legacy of 60 minutes. Her soft ball questions to Musharraf and the head of Blackwater before that remind me of high school newspaper questions.
Why is she getting these high profile assignments, when their are current correspondents who are so much more qualified? 60 minutes in the last news magazine on the networks that I still watch. Maybe not for much longer. - Reply to this comment
- Read John Burns'' article on Pakistan in today''s NYT. A very illuminating and damning history of a thoroughly failed state. Not a single leader has left his or her office normally! They have either died, been killed, thrown in prison, or driven out of the country. Wonder what fate awaits Musharraf? Anybody wants to take a guess..!
