Your report on how American troops are making careless mistakes in bombing innocent civilians was handled in an irresponsible manner which further encourages dirty fighting by the terrorists and demoralizes those that desire to defeat them. Instead of focusing on the negative actions of the US, why are you so slow to fully portray the evil brutality of the enemy? If the American news reporting during WWII was as anti-American as Scott Pelley''s, Germany and Japan might have won the war. Mr. Pelley, have you no conscience? Mr. Pelley, are you just another political sensationalist who cares more about your ratings than your country?

Why is it necessary to be so transparent and reveal our secret intelligence devices, equipement and personnel? Transparency may be a good stradegy in politics or education but not when we''re trying to win against terrorism. That interview would have been just as effective in an interview room. Leave the reality shows to the entertainment division. The transparency to validate the sad story of the locals telling their story failed to create a sympathetic reaction to their loss.

Again! We Americans are the Bad Guys!!??
If we had fought World War 2 the way 60 Minutes wants us to fight the war on terror, They (60 Minutes) would be reporting in Japanese. If these people are willing to help the Taliban aren''t they somewhat responsible for what might happen?? I have yet to see Scott Pelley interview Bin Laden and ask why they killed 3000 innocent people in the twin towers who
had nothing to do with any war????? Quit running done our military!!

I am appalled at the blatant anti-military, anti- Bush tone conveyed in the bombing in Afganistan piece. You didn''t even present the slighest possibility that the village was a hot bed of Taliban loyalist and as such, the people interviewed view us as the enemy, consequently their remarks . The very idea that you can fight a war against avowed terrost enemy without bombing them is rediculous. My advice to the Taliban is if they don''t want their women and children killed, carry out their activities a good distance from them. An aside note, as ex-military, it is my opinion that the damage shown in the village is not fresh bombing damage, but old age decay. The fresh crater you showed is from recent bombing. I invite you to compare.

PS- I detest Scott Pelley''s work.

After watching Scott Pelly''s anti-American reports the last two weekends,I assume he should have no trouble justifying the attacks on the USA on 9/11/01.He can ,no doubt, prove that the terrorists took every precaution to avoid killing innocent Americans.

I continue to question why Scott Pelley feels that he is providing a public service with his news reports. As a citizen and a veteran, I know in my heart that our service men and woman, as well as our elected officials are good people and do everything they can to prevent civilian deaths. As a nation, I put the U.S. at the top of the list of compassionate nations who exercise incredible care in preventing civilian harm. Yet Pelley, in story after story, continues to use the power of his voice to paint a picture that says the opposite - that Americans are careless and don''t care who they harm. There are two sides to every story and I really don''t appreciate Pelley''s "gotcha" journalism approach. It just seems to me that he is always on the opposite side working very hard to discredit our nation''s motives and actions. Maybe he should move to another country because it is clear to me he does not appreciate our troops or our flag.

I do not like the casualties of war, but that is what it is. I do not like what the American positioned president of Afghanistan said about this. I wounder what the Russians did behind the media, I feel very comfortable in saying, If you want to run your own country, STOP talking bad about the USA. Who made you what you are.

The story on the bombing of Afghanistan is not complete. Kindly interview the Taliban and query THEIR criteria for an attack. Just wondering: Did offer to polygraph any of those villagers or is their version automatically accepted as fact?

I''m thankful that 60 minutes shows this kind of story. I remember growing up and learning about the US involvement in the slaughter of Central Americans by soldiers trained by the US Military, and learning of the media''s relative silence on this. I grew to distrust the media and its willingness to take a clear look at our government and our military actions. Therefore, I was pleasantly surprised to see 60 minutes show some of the nightmares visited among civilians in Afghanistan by US military forces, and ask probing questions of military personnel. Keep up the good work!

thanks once again for assuring that the republicans will remain in office.
that piece of *** reporting is the shoddiest, and most irresponsible that i have seen from you in a while...and thats saying alot, because you certainly have produced a lot of ***.
the "reflective" and "contemplative" patronizing glances at the reporter while he "unearths" some clandestine sinister attack on the afghans is humorous at the very least.
two comments...you mention that we have killed roughly 300 innocent civilians, while the Russians killed over 1 million...where''s the story on the russians?
secondly, you interview the "family" that was bombed, then say you spoke with Americans in charge over there that would not comment on the attack...so, I guess its responsible reporting to just take the afghan families word on what transpired?
lastly...how about at least a mention about what the afghan leader himself does to his own people.
I must admit that your sensationalist efforts are routinely entertaining, as they are immediately endorsed by the hollywood elite, which again just ensures that conservatives will continue (as they should) to lead this country.
thanks!

If you are so upset that civilians are being killed than have the balls to say war is wrong and it should end. Otherwise use you brains and understand in war people die.I hate all war and believe that the people of a country should fight their own battles.
