Al Qaeda Dealt Devastating Blow in Iraq
Monday, October 15, 2007

The U.S. military says it has dealt devastating and potentially irreversible blows to Al Qaeda in Iraq in recent months, leading some generals to advocate a declaration of victory over the group, which the Bush administration has long described as the most lethal U.S. adversary in Iraq, the Washington Post reported Monday.

As a military wife, I know there are jobs no one else is willing to do but must be done at what ever the cost.
So to the critics of Blackwater, I ask you this.
If it was your family member they are protecting would you want someone who thought twice about every action during a hostile situation, or someone who is willing to risk their necks and reputation to do what ever was neccesary and deal with the consequences later?
I for one would want the latter, but thats just me.

rafterman, now you believe the Iraqi government, how convenient, previously as you have said they are nothing more than Bush''s puupet another example of having it both ways

The crapp you spew is not oversite it''s egenda driven lies, just like your liberal master CBS. DEmocracy is alive and well or you would have been silenced along time ago, just headover to any other country and start spewing your anti-crapp, most goernmentts wouldn''t tollerate ingrates like you

16,000 incursions and only ten casualties, I would say that goes beyond following the rules of war. Not only that they were fired on 20% 0f those trips, get clue!

The enemy loves nothing more than to use innocents and children as shields, that''s the nature of the evil we are fighting, but I gues people like you would rahter believe the proganda spewed hereat leftwing central than the see the truth regarding the evil that we are fighting!

When I was young I remember the Republicans talking about how MaCarthy would save America from the Soviet Union Communists. Now the Republcians are saying that George Bush will Save America from the Muslims who want to destroy us. Sounds like the same sound bite too me.

Remeber MaCarthy didn''t start a war and the Republicans were out for 40 years. This time it will most likly be 140 years in the wilderness and that would suit me fine bucause this is the worst President and administration in all my life and I have seen quite a few.

Simplemind2, thanks and welcome to the majority. You will be happy to know that picture you described has been shrunk to wallet size and is now inserted as the generic picture in prison made, faux leather Chinese wallets sold at Walmart.

What a softball type interview! It was a complete waste of time to go down there and interview. Maybe you shouldn%u2019t interview men you are so obviously attracted to. We as viewers deserved more. Disgusting.

Yeah, but we would have had the same problems if we had instead sent hard hitting Talon news reporter Jeff Gannon.

Rafterman, you are hilarious! How do you know they were unarmed civilians, because the Iraq governemt said so after a 12 hour investigation,LOL!

When Bush ceclared victory it wasn''t the genrals on the ground you dumbb asss.

Your "oversite" is nothing more than agenda driven critisism, there is a differance, obviously that concept is too much for a simple mind.

The fact that these men went back after surving tours over there and have been extremely restrained and yet have manged to do the job speaks volumes, it also shows the depths you and CBS would go to midigate such a tremendous success.

What a softball type interview! It was a complete waste of time to go down there and interview Mr. Prince for that. Could you go any easier on the guy? What a display of hard-hitting investigative interviewing skills. Maybe you shouldn%u2019t interview men you are so obviously attracted to. We as viewers deserved more. Disgusting.

All the other major news outlets including left leaning MSNBC are headlining the story of how Al Qaeda in iraq has been crippled and marginalized. Some generals think because of this progress victory can be declared but not one word of that here at leftwing central. Instead the CBS headline is another propoganda piece that''s attempting to discredit one of the few success stories in this awful war. Blackwater has had 16,000 + incursions into hostile territory since the start of the war with only 10 previous shooting deaths, no dignitaries have been lost or injured, and impecable record. The employees are ex military that have served in Iraq and Aghanistan. Typical of the hogwash biased crapp CBS spews in there "anti" agenda. You people like to have it both ways here, all one reads in these posts is how bad it is over there, how thw enemy doesn''t wear uniforms, how you can''t drive or walk down the street without an armed escort, yet when these people are targeted and fired on by the same militants and they get killed in the exchange suddenly the enemy becomes unarmed innocent civlians! typical ofthe lose at all costs, bash Amercica mentality of CBS news and it''s blind followers.

"why Americans should care more than the Iraqis do when Iraqi civilians become casualties..."

Because we illgeally invaded them, not the other way around.
We should send Bush and his gang of war criminals to jail, and pay war reporations to the Iraqis, as long as they can peaceably coexist.

"Hitler was a liberal" aha.
I am sorry but what party is Bush-the-war criminal in? Bush is the one - the decider, who invaded a solverign country - just like Hitler did Poland and then...
So instead of stating obfuscating history, why don''t you take responsibility with the war criminal you support.

Watching the 60 Minutes puff piece on Blackwater USA, one might assume that Lara Logan had gone to work as the security company%u2019s chief of public relations. Much of what Blackwater CEO Erik Price had to say went completely unchallenged by CBS. For example, Mr. Prince stated that Blackwater has lost 27 employees in Iraq and 3 in Afghanistan%u2026in a clear attempt to paint his company in a sympathetic light. What Mr. Prince failed to mention was that those three employees who died in Afghanistan were victims of their own arrogant behavior and gross negligence %u2013 piloting a Blackwater aircraft recklessly on an unapproved route through the mountains of Bamian Province. More troubling, however, is the fact that three fine American soldiers also died in that incident. Lieutenant Colonel Mike McMahon, Chief Warrant Officer Travis Grogan, and Specialist Harley Miller were passengers entrusted to Blackwater%u2019s care on a cross country flight to western Afghanistan. So much for Mr. Prince%u2019s assertion that Blackwater has a 100% success rate protecting its clients%u2026%u2026..

When will you people get lives and quit bashing a company you know nothing about except for what you read and hear from the news? It''''s the media folks, most of it is as real as celebrity gossip! Don''''t be so simple mided.

What''s the matter? Did you hear something you didn''t want to hear? A lot of us are sick of the thug in the White House who is squandering our hard earned tax dollars on war, rich cronies and hired thugs who make as high as $20,000 a month. This war isn''t being conducted at a cut rate. Except our troops do without essential equipment so Bush can hire these goons! Like it or not, war profiteers are costing you and your great grandchildren billions. It''s mercenary''s who are making ten times what the average soldier makes doing the exact same job they used to do. The money that is being wasted in Iraq is sickening. We object to the idea of hiring paid thugs and paying them more than you do the US military! We object to ''cowboy''s'' representing our country who act like this bunch does. It''s common knowledge this goes on. What is wrong with you????? You don''t care you are getting screwed by these people financially! This is not the stuff of tabloid''s. It''s happening wake up and join the world.

"I%u2019m an American working for America," Prince says. "

What a patriot! He takes home millions and builds his empire at US taxpayer expense, and he dares to portray himself as just another branch of the military? The man is a war profiteer, clear and simple. And a cash conduit from the US taxpayer to the Repug party. And a private police force accountable to nobody--as shown by their behavior during Katrina when they would not rescue unless the people gave up their Constitutional rights to keep their own firearms.

Erik is just another goostepping *** with a real good suck on the money teat, thanks to the Bushits.
