RE: Erik Prince
How far the mighty have fallen. Ed Bradley must be rolling over in his grave.
Laura Logan? Really!
She has the gravitas of a middle school cheerleader. Her pretentious pout and vapid expressions; how did Mr. Prince maintain his composure?
Such probing questions! One can but conclude that the poor girl actually wrote her own script.
Hadly the calibre I have come to expect from 60 Minutes.
But, you already know that, don''t you?

Situations like this happen in split seconds. It is very easy to look back in hindsight and tell the people involved that they should have done something differently. I think an investigation is a good idea, so long as it doesn''t turn into a witch hunt. Unfortunately, even if Blackwater is cleared there will still be plenty of people who will be willing to play Monday-morning quarterback.

This may have been the worst interview I have ever seen on "60 Minutes". What''s happened to you guys? You used to confront and honestly question people like Erick Prince. Now you''re careful not to offend them. Was that the deal? You get the promo value of hyping his only public interview and then not ask any hard questions?

The interview with Eric Prince was pathetic. Lara Logan lobbed him one softball after another and allowed him to come off as the scrupulous patriot he wishes to seem -- and not the dangerous thug he really is. What ever happened to Mike Wallace?

I think that the flack is to much for things like this. For one, those that work for Blackwater are on edge. Secondly, I don''t think that these people intentionally go looking for fights no matter what the media would have us believe. Also after a car bomb goes off near you you would be even more jumpy that you are. I also believe that they were engaged first. This may not have been gunfire but they probably were attacked first.

The statement, "60 Minutes has no way of independently verifying that claim" is patently false. Enemy forces (including Al Qaeda in Iraq, Iranian MOIS & Quods force, Mahdi army, and other insurgents) typically use AK-47''s and fire 7.62x39 mm cartridges, BlackWater escorts (shown in your video) carry smaller, lighter and faster 5.56x45mm ball ammunition. The two would make distinctive pockmarks in the vehicles. A forensics expert could, with some effort, verify this claim. Shoddy and hurried reporting 60 minutes.

You know what there%u2019s to sides to this mess, let it sort it own self out. But my question, a country as powerful as us with so many resources, must we go to a private company to defend our dignitaries over there, or even our Generals that are commanding over there, I don''t know. Hell I''m a former Recon Marine that would consider working with Blackwater. This war is a mess, in closing if their not aggressors then their bodyguards, Merc''s are aggressors.

{"I''m an American working for America. Anything we do is to support U.S. policy. You know the definition of a mercenary is a professional soldier that works in the pay of a foreign army. I%u2019m an American working for America," Prince says}
1) To all other people looking at Blackwater, (Namely the Iraqi people being shot at) Prince Just Defined his men as Mercenaries. Professional soldiers working for a foreign army, Americans in Iraq are foreigners...DUHHHH?
And people said Mr. Prince was smart. Guess not.
2) Its the charges that you and your men didnt follow support of US policy thats the problem here buddy.
Get that through your head.
Got a plate in there or something?
3) what are his men decorated for from previous military experience..... being panzies? Noo!! pry from being "aggressive, Overly Aggressive, arrogant, cowboy attitudes" ????
Wouldnt that sound appropriate?
The military doesnt give out medals for walking old ladies across the street. And if you survive numerous military campaigns, either you are good at hiding or you are good at killing. So which is it Mr. Prince?
