- Springsteen,
Enlist or just plain shut up. You might have been a good pop troubadour once - now you''re nothing more than a silly old dinosaur screeching Hollyweirdo pap.
You wish to bring back American values? Good. Tell your friends in Tinseltown and NashVegas to bring back the American actor, to stop flooding movie and tv screens with clueless bimbos - and to record musicians who can write their own material and sing it - not moronic dumb blondes like Natalie Maines or Keith Urban.
You want American values? Then dammit, learn how to fight to WIN a war, not the way of your little MoveOn.Org Nazi paid friends Hillary and Boy Obama, or Reid and Pelosi for that matter.
Just grow up, Brucie - or shut up. You''re boring. - Reply to this comment

But don''t you think that Springsteen has as much right to voice his opion and does Bill O''Reilly? I seldom agree with O''Reilly but I strongly believe that he has the right to be heard. I''m not trying to start an arguement with you, just trying to better understand your viewpoint. - Reply to this comment

Your post was a good one. As much as I want to see an end to the war I am concerned about what would happen if we withdraw our forces. The fact that we should never have started this in the first place is somewhat irrelevent now. The fact is that we are there and where do we go from here. It really looks like a catch 22 to me. There are some things that, once done, cannot be un-done. This is truly one of those things. - Reply to this comment

Nice post but if it was easy as not buying his album it would be great. Springsteen use to let his music speak for itself but unfortunatley he is now getting involved with mainstream media and opening his mouth and making comments with no backing. Bill O''Reilly offerd to donate 25,000 if Bruce went on the Factor. I would love to see this! Try going on a show that will challenge your thinking instead of being staged like all mainstream media. - Reply to this comment
- I love the comment that mentions we should look at all the good we have. Unfortunatley we now have so many people who for some reason can only focus on the the bad. This is what I was trying to get across earlier. I have always been a Springsteen fan which may be hard to believe by my recent comments I have made. I love his desire for music but his negativity as well as many it''s getting so hard to hear. I don''t hate the guy because his ideas are different than mine. That''s the best thing about America. His music is his music and his views are his views. I respect that. I just can''t stand when I hear let''s leave Iraq...Now tell me what you plan on doing when the terrorist take over and bomb us within two years. It''s amazing how anyone can just one day decide to back out or change their decision on anything without asking themselves the repercussion of doing so in any decision. That''s the easy fix. That''s how you get popularity votes. Give me long term fix. I don''t want to see what IO had to see for myself or for my kids.

Nice post. It shows that Bruce is more than eletist, self-absorbed and uneducated. There are some who post on this site who are so consumed by their hatred for anyone who is not exactly like them that they feel it is necessary to attack with vulgarity and empty rhetoric rather than to have a serious discussion. I agree with another poster who said, "if you don''t like Springsteen, don''t listen or buy his music." All art is meant to help us see the world in a different way than we might normally see it. Everyone should have the right to express themselves...even those that I don''t agree with. - Reply to this comment
- Why didn''''t Bruce write a song about the inside job 9/11 dang he missed that opportunity?

Bill Maher takes a jab at the 9/11 Truth movement in a recent "New Rules" segment.
"Crazy people who still think the government brought down the Twin Towers in a controlled explosion have to stop pretending that I''m the one who''s being naive," says Maher.
How big a lunatic do you have to be to watch two giant airliners packed with jet fuel slam into buildings on live TV, igniting a massive inferno that burned for two hours, and then think ''Well, if you believe that was the cause...''
Stop asking me to raise this ridiculous topic on the show and start asking your doctor if Paxil is right for you."

9/11 Commission Primer
July 20, 2004
This is a moment the Bush administration sought to prevent. The 9/11 Commission Primer by the Center for American Progress reminds its readers of the administration''s attempts to obstruct and discredit the work of the Commission, and abdicate responsibility for protecting our country.

%u2022 Stonewalling the Commission
%u2022 Attacking the Commission and Its Members

White House Opposed Formation of Commission: President Bush and Vice President Cheney both contacted then-Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle in the months after 9/11 to insist on strict limits in the scope of any investigation into the attacks. - Reply to this comment

Springsteen, shut your pie hole. You are an elitist, self- absorbed, uneducated, artist.
The facts
Bruce Frederick Joseph Springsteen (born September 23, 1949) is an influential American singer, songwriter, and guitarist. He has frequently recorded and toured with the E Street Band. Springsteen is most widely known for his brand of heartland rock infused with pop hooks, poetic lyrics, and Americana sentiments centered around his native New Jersey. His eloquence in expressing ordinary, everyday problems has earned him numerous awards, including fifteen Grammy Awards and an Oscar, along with an international fan base. His most famous albums, Born to Run and Born in the U.S.A., epitomize his penchant for finding grandeur in the struggles of daily life. He has sold over 60 million albums in the U.S. alone.[1]
Springsteen''s lyrics often concern men and women struggling to make ends meet. - Reply to this comment

- Let''s focus here people. We are supposed to be making comments about Bruce Springsteen.
I think Bruce''s record is great. Just solid rock ''''''''n roll. He writes songs from his heart. I suspect that given his age and wealth, he isn''t gonna be writing too many more songs about gathering up his girl and blowin'' town. Frankly, given my age and situation, those kinds of songs aren''''''''t gonna be speaking to me.
Whether you like his views or not, how can one seriously (or should I say intelligently) suggest that Bruce shouldn''t write songs about politics? If you don''t like anti-war songs, write song pro-war songs, pick up your guiter and hit the road.
This is the free market place of ideas. If you don''t like Bruce''s ideas, don''t buy the record, don''t go to his fabulous, if somewhat geriatric, rock ''n roll shows, don''t watch 60 Minutes when it does a story about Bruce, just turn back to Rush Limbaugh.
For me, I don''t make art decisions based solely on the advise of politicians and I don''t make political decisions based solely upon the advise of artists. Artists are valuable because they give ua a perspective on life that we don''t ordinarily get. Bruce is real good at that. He describes life quite well. Music evokes emotions that makes rock ''n roll special a special art form.
There you go. That''s my comment.

- Entertainers who, like Springsteen, use their celebrity status to farther their political agenda have no problem using the freedoms other lost their lives for. He certainly has made millions singing about the bad in our country. Too bad he cant find the good. He is entitled to his opinion as a citizen like the rest of us and thats all the weight it should carry.

- Springsteen, shut your pie hole. You are an elitist, self- absorbed, uneducated, artist. You have no concept of real life or problems in the world. You have hallucinogenic fantasies of a world peace under the control of self-centered, narcissistic, evil, non God-fearing, boneheads like yourself. You are unable to fathom the killing potential of madmen who rule in countries like Iran, Russia, Venezuela, Cuba, North Korea, Mexico, and the list goes on.........
