It''s called Al-taqiyya. Look it up. President Ahm-in-a-jihad claims, "I cannot tell a lie. I''m a Muslim." What he''s NOT telling you is that in Islam it''s considered a very good thing to lie to non-Muslims. And as a devout Muslim, what can we, as (mostly here) non-Muslims expect from him? His professed mystification at our indignance toward his plan to visit Ground Zero, his profession that Iran isn''t pursuing nuclear weapons, his semi-adept tapdance around the subject of Iranian materials being used in Iraq to kill Americans and Iraqis... just remember one thing: to a proud and devout Muslim, lying to non-Muslims is considered a Very Good Thing. Think about it.

The so-called interview of Ahmadinejad by Scott Pelley on 60 Minutes was an outrage! There was nothing objective or journalistic about the propoganda presented as reporting by this organization. To have Mr. Pelley present a quote from President Bush was insulting and had no place in this forum. Our tax dollars pay the salary of Condelezza Rice and her cohorts to deliver messages from the president. How dare you!!

Finally to ask Mr. Ahmadinejad what he could identify to admire about Bush??!! Hell this president is not admired by his own people with the worst approval ratings in history of any president!!! This was not a "real" question. Look guys, leave the gingoism to FOX where it belongs. You''ve been around too long to embarass yourselves with the nonsense you presented on Sunday. Frankly, the producers of this *** should be fired!!

I was shocked & disappointed with Scott''s work. He was subjective and did nothing to advance the exchange of ideas. I realize that the iranian President is not or hasn''t been the most affable person with jhis views and or comments. However, I do applaud his eforts to engage openly in order to foster a start of better understanding through dialogue. I was shocked and disgusted by Scott''s tone and his inability to advance the discussion. There was so myuch I wanted to know about his guest. Who really cares about whawt he likes about Pres Bush? You can find 7 out of 10 Americans who are not kind about our Pres!!! Whatas the purpose of his question? He made himself available when our own president won''t do the same. Finally, he thinks Pres Bush is very r4eligious??/ Where did Scott go to school and or is he educated. I meqn can he read & write. This interview was a waste of time and God knows how much money. It is a sad result for 60 minutes. I really wish Ed Bradley was alive now and dare I say why? Scott, you should at least take these suggestions and pray your next opportunity to be a journalistic reporter goes well rather than being a cycloptic nemisis to tjhose you fail to serve. Your work was embarrassing............

I thought journalists were supposed to be objective.
After watching this program for over 30 years, I have to admit this was the worst interview I''ve ever seen generated from 60 Minutes. Please don''t mistake my comment for saying I support the political and social policies advocated by Ahmadinejad because I most certainly do not. Pelley was antagonistic, clearly had an agenda, and completely missed an oppportunity to open dialogue with a major player in the political disaster of the middle east. Any solution there needs to be social and political, Pelley did not do his homework in any fashion what so ever.
What if an Iranian ''journalist'' treated G.W. that way in an interview? My guess is that the journalist would be detained and charged with some variant of trumped-up gibberish.

There''s no doubt Ahmadinejad maintains very distorted views and beliefs about America. Did Pelley do ANYTHING to set the record straight? No. Quite the contrary, he reinforced Ahmadinejad''s opinion that the US is a bull in a china shop.

Before you disagree with me, go back and read Pelley''s very first question. It was full of assumptions and quite accusatory. That is NOT good journalism.

I think Andy Rooney should have done the interview. Ahmadinejad would have most likely responded far differently to an old man who asks honest questions.

The interviewer Scott Pelley is the worst one I have seen in my life. Why did CBS chose this guy? He was not composed, not objective and not polite at all. He seemed visibly nervous, agitated and belligerent. Where did his journalistic professionalism and objectivity go? The interviewee was the head of a nation! At least you can be respectful of another human being and not harass him asking him the same moronic govt. propagated statement question again and again!
I am a strong opponent of the human rights violations and women''s oppression in Iran. I agree that Ahmadinejad is not a saint but you have to respect his totally composed and well-thought answers. Anybody else in his shoes would have reacted badly to such an insulting way of interviewing someone.

If somebody thinks that everything their government tells them is the truth, without trying to dig out the truth themselves in an objective manner, they do not deserve to be part of the profession called journalism and they definitely should not be allowed to interview somebody they can not control their emotions in front of.

Finally a liberal I could almost hug! : )

"Mr. President, you exhibit all the signs of a petty and cruel dictator," Bollinger said, to loud applause.
He said Ahmadinejad''s denial of the Holocaust might fool the illiterate and ignorant.
"When you come to a place like this it makes you simply ridiculous," Bollinger said. "The truth is that the Holocaust is the most documented event in human history."
Ahmadinejad rose, also to applause, and after a religious invocation, said Bollinger''s opening was "an insult to information and the knowledge of the audience here."

How can this man say that he is a Muslim and that he cannot tell a lie, when so many Muslims have told lies. In fact, if a muslim cannot tell a lie then why are they all so secretive about what they do and who they do it to.

CBS quote:
"Ahmadinejad denies Iran is building towards war"

.

Interesting

That''''s similar to what Hitler said to the great liberal appeaser, Neville Chamberlain.
We all know how that turned out.

I guess liberals are just as stupid today as they were almost 70 years ago.

We have met the enemy, and it is us. (Read U.S.,Government, Bush Administration, inept media representatives, and NeoCons in general).I have hope after reading a number of comments. I have gratitude that I am not nuts, as I suspected I might be as I watched and listed to the interview on 60 Minutes. The words to describe my reaction are: astonished, un-believing, ashamed of Pelley''s attitude and demeanor, admiration for Ahmadinejad''s self-control, his demeanor, his candidness, and his wisdom. Brother, what a comparison he was to our alleged president.
I have hope for this world just reading these comments...shows me that we are NOT entirely a nation of idiots blinded by government and media gobble-digook. I kept thinking: I hope all the presidential candidates are watching this...I''d love to see their comments in writing...and signed with their names.

I wrote Katic Couric asking her how much the Bush Administration paid her and CBS when she was saying nothing but talking points of the Bush Adminstration when she was reporting from Iraq.
Now the same thing to Scott Pelly, How much has the Bush Administration paid you and CBS for that awlful interview with Ahmadinejad? IT WAS THE WORST SIXTY MINUTES I''VE EVER SEEN. I''ve been watching since I was in high school and I graduated in 1973 !!!! Really bad Scott!!!!

Funny, I am conservative and I do not think Fox goes far enough they seem centrist to me. How about that beautifully worded scathing rebuke of Tyrant Mr. Amedinejad? : )
Do you LIBERALS still want to give Iraq to Syria and Iran?

God Bless President Bush our troops and the USA!

Mr. Pelley from watching the 60 Minutes interview made me think whether I had happened to be on the wrong channel? was I on a FOX channel? Mr. Pelley''s obnoxious opinionated questioning made Mr. Ahmadinejad look like an intellectual and it highlighted the relevance of Mr. Dan Rather''s lawsuit. It is time that journalists be journalists instead of mouthing slanted opinions.
