- What is Scott Pelley's agenda. You know what question is coming before he asks. He is of no value doing interviews on 60 Minutes. I have watched 60 Minutes for years and years (like as long as it has been on) but when Scott comes on I go to the Food Channel.

Do you have a point? Are you trying to say McCain didn't get his message out because of the person doing the interview? Are you saying that McCain didn't get asked the tough questions? What is your point? - Reply to this comment
- Perhaps it's time to get out the swiftboat squad and swiftboat this fake war hero to oblivion just as they did to thet other "fake" war hero.

McCain nor Kerry were fake in any way and it's offensive to Vets like myself to say such things. Look WE, the Vietnam Vets, live every day with this division within our ranks. That prevents us from acting and doing as past vets have because there are two distinct views of Vietnam and how it ended. I'm not here to take a side in that dispute because it's BETWEEN us! That's right people, the decision to leave Vietnam was made and we left, that is just fact. WE are now left with a phoney war, that is not debatable, ran in a very bad way, that also is not debatable. When the decision was made to leave there was NO ONE out there saying we should stay until it was over. The argument was about should we leave NOW or wait until we could under better terms. The peace deal was struck and WE packed up and left as directed by the Government. Senator Kerry stood up for one side in that argument and because he spoke out he's attacked. Senator McCain BENEFITED by Kerry's push for peace in that he returned home and he's attacked. It's stupid and should stop especially when the low life JERKS who are using those deep and bitter divisions for their OWN political agenda AND they wouldn't serve. - Reply to this comment

- The question asked by the interviewer to Mr. McCain 'When does the President do what the majority of the American People want?'...This is an assumption that the 'majority' of the American people want our forces to up and leave Iraq with no concern for the outcome. A simple case of anti-administration media propoganda being considered factual 'news'. The unpopularity of the war is nationwide, but the idea that most Americans want our forces to up and leave without a definitive victory is press CA CA. As innacurate as polls can be, I submit that if the entire population of the voting US were asked, the number of people that agree with the Bush idea of staying the course may shock all the 'any reason to hate Bush crowd'. It is sad that the Bush hater's consider his ouster and criticism a greater issue of importance than the outcome of a conflict that, right or wrong, will affect this country for generations.

You ARE NOT listening! I really can't respond to you because nothing you say is ACTUAL reality. NO ONE is saying to just pack up and leave. What the Democrats are saying and it makes perfect sense, it to give this Government a year or so to sit down, all of them, and find a political solution to this mess. There is NO military one. - Reply to this comment
- hey irish- so many americans dont think anything is wronge in washington because they only see what the governments wants you to see. remember when china blow one of our satlite out of the sky about two months ago.well you remember the news stated it for about 30 sec, then was not hard again until the government clean it up for america to see 5 days later.you see all you hear and read and see is only what the government wants you to see.
and the reason china did that is to show bush/cheney that they are the boss now that you americans borrowed 3 trillion dollars from us, and now ow us the interest. bush/cheney said no. they said really/ watch this them dont want to pay so lets show you how far more advance we are to you americans ok/ lets see ok hit that satalite. ops its gone. want to pay now..
our government has sold america..and we are sitting ducks now for the world.. - Reply to this comment
- "Well, again, I disagree with what the majority of the American people want. Failure will lead to chaos, withdrawal will lead to chaos," McCain replies.
As if what we've visited on Iraq can not be termed chaos.
McCain, like Bush, feel that they know better than we Americans what should be done. He and Bush don't understand the term "representative government". - Reply to this comment

- Two years ago I thought McCain was an honorable man. He has certainly proved that to be wrong when he stuck huis head up bush's butt. Too little too late John you are a liar just like the rest of the politicians in washington.

- Guys write Levin tell him no money without end dates for the war!
If you follow the money trail you will find that most of those elected officials who support the war in Iraq are under the influence of AIPAC. See how they brag about buying our elected officials while Americans soldiers are being killed in a Civil War!

- As a nation will have to some day wake up and stop electing the same people year after year who promise the same thing over and over again when they are up for election. It is a terrible disjustice to the young men and women who have given their lives for their country. I have a son there now and pray for all of our sons and daughters to come home safe. The war is for nothing more than greed and outright stupity on our leaders part. We should all hang our heads in shame for the way Bush and Cheney have portrayed the US. They have started something that will haunt our grandchildren and generations to come.

- The entire point of McCain's trip was to prove to the American people things in Iraq are going just "fine and dandy" and its safe to walk the street.
Yeah, if you've got the U.S. Army covering your back.
What a fool, boy talk about something backfiring and blowing up in your face (that would be McCain). Remember, we are now at year FOUR. And this guy wants to be taken seriously. There is no way in h*ll, I would ever vote for this guy. - Reply to this comment
- From straight talker to Bush lap dog.
What a long way down for this war hero!
But like the other war hero, maybe he made up all that stuff about being held as a POW in Hanoi.
Hey, let's bring out the swift boat lads and let's have another crack at the "truth" here. - Reply to this comment
- Oh my...it is being reported that the area of the market was sealed off by the US military prior to McCains visit. A mile in every direction. *** the internet and *** those Iraqis for daring to defy the "smile and grin for the cameras" dictate and dare to tell it like it is. It is also stated that the markets are very slow and the actual Iraqis are saying that in order for them to feel safe, the military would have to do what they did for McCain and his entourage ---for them also. Let's see...that would be what? about 5 million flak jackets, all 140K of our troops (to take care of all Bagdhadians) and the cordoning off of at least a couple of miles in all directions. or was the photo op and the reality PLANNED to not jibe? LOL
Safe neighborhoods indeed. - Reply to this comment
- see Mr McCain was able to locate the Iraq division of "Rent a Sunni", that sheik saying "if you point a gun at an American you are pointing it at my brother" was to much.
Posted by omega39 at 09:56 PM : Apr 08, 2007
Probably was not even a Sunni. Why would he state such a thing when the Sunni's main thrust is to not only get rid of the US but to punish all collaborators. No one who values their life would ever admit such a thing on tv --even if they believed that way. There is no love lost for us over there--especially among the Sunni. Love your "rent a Sunni" line. - Just watched the Sen. McCain interview on 60 minutes Sunday April 8, 2007. How refreshing to see a politician, especially a Republican, exposing him or herself in such an honest manner. In addition, he really seems to care about doing what's right regardless of foolish political pressures. We have suffered a serious degradation of the American ideal, ethic, and integrity since 2000. Not to mention the financial devastation we are currently faced with based on pure industrial greed. A change in the direction of truth and responsibility is necessary. I would vote for this man and I'm a Democrat (if you have nit already guessed).

One would have thought--after Bush, that people would stop believing the junk read from the scripts of candidates. Congratulations you just proved Bush's "You can fool some of the people all of the time and those are the ones we have to work on" scary to know not only Republicans can be really gullible and take a proven liar at his word. Then again, you may just be a paid McCain (new campaign) supporter. LOL - Reply to this comment
- Re:"I knew Bush was a liar from day one and I also knew Cheney was a liar--from the time he was involved with Enron and claimed Executive protection. As for the war, had you followed it internationally, you would have known the yellow cake was bogus, almost a year before Bush's and Powells infamous speeches and you would have known we were disregarding international treaties for nonagression and the Geneva conventions. When people try to redefine torture and illegally invading other countries to fit their own actions--you don't need a rocket scientist to know they are no good."

Nice post, but you figure anyone who hasn't figured out by now after six years of this horrendous administration is not going to be convinced no matter what the facts or reality of the situation are. Everything you said is right on the money. Now if only the remaining 30 percenters could just grow some new brain cells and use them. I for one wouldn't count on it. - Reply to this comment
