- Simon: Megalomaniac Supreme, god of Earth's talent yet to be realized, callous but knowing, cutesy but cruel, who when acknowledging said talent sends the FOX viewship into happy warm fuzzies.
PAY Simon more money FOX! He's cooler than cool (more than Springsteen, not THE BOSS, ouch!) and HE keeps the "America Idol-izes Simon" viewers paying those FOX bills.
Remember when "Simon sez" was a game? Still is. - Reply to this comment
- Well~ it looks like evil, unkindness and cruelty are winning in the world right now ~
How sad for the world and all of us who are in it are trapped under the rule of these mean, selfish, hypocritical men. - Reply to this comment

- BTW: There is no such thing as 'unbiased' news. Not in this day and age. :D

- He would compare himself to Springsteen.
It's apples and oranges. Simon is a critic in the entertainment industry. Springsteen is an artist.
As much as I love critics, I would be a fool to emulate Simon and audaciously compare myself to, let's say, Tom Cruise... or any celebrity deemed to be the best actor these days... - Reply to this comment
- No matter how hard I try, I just can't seem to give a rat's A$$ about SIMON or AMERICAN IDOL, for that matter.

- Does anybody really care who "wins" this show? The only time I watch is all the morons and retards that come on and think they can sing when in fact all they can do is whoop and whine and bellow like a pregnant cow or some kind of strange bird from Brazil. But *** if they aren't entertaining when they hear Simon tell them the truth about themselves and then they have to go home.

Simon in the hot seat will appear composed but it won't take much to put him on the defensive..at which point he will try to keep the focus off himself. There's no doubt that most of the time Simon is correct in what he says but I've often wondered if he knows how to have fun or how he treats people around him. Being sarcastic is obviously one of his strong points. I feel sorry for him in a way...
This is the first year I have followed the show and truly think it is a great opportunity for the contestants to have the chance to get "Their Big Break"
Chris Sly ... would love to hear you perform an Elton John Classic. Keep your glasses on we love you just the way you are.- Reply to this comment
- chezbella...although I agree that FOX is the most unbaised news network, I have to question a statement you made. You said you "can't bring myself to give one zillionth of an gram of support to CBS." I have to ask then why are you posting on the CBS website?

- "Too bad the interview is on the most radical, biased network in the USA. . . .CBS. Hopefully Fox News, the only truly unbiased media, will show a few clips of the only honest judge on Idol." Posted by chezbella
I can't believe anyone thinks FOX is unbiased. They are the only news agency that still reports GW Bush and Gonzo and all White House staff as honest and reasonable people. Clearly, as chief warmongers (ie. having attacked a country that did NOT attack us or help anyone who did) GWB deserves the vitriole that the whole entire worlds bestows on him. - Reply to this comment

I know you sycophant leftists are thinking -Fox News unbiased? Hah! - but that's only because you drink the same juice as Chris Matthews, Katey Couric, etc. and actually believe their fear driven rants about Fox. - Reply to this comment
- manta6 you obviously don't understand the industry, and if you can't see it, then I can't help you...
60 Minutes is still a great show. They get watered down like any news program, however they make good points, and often times are very controversial (which sells timeslots.) Once you understand what your talking about, please come and discuss it with us. - Reply to this comment
- You're right that the interview on one network does promote the other, but you're wrong to advise that 60 Minutes should 'hang it up' if this is the best they can do. Somone in a previous post mentioned that 60 Minutes only attracts the older audience. This is somewhat true. But think of the American Idol audience. It ranges from youth to people in their 90's. That's a large scope of audience for any show. Interview that judge on a news program and poof, like magic, that program is not only attracting the 60 year olds, it's grabbing those other age groups as well. 60 Minutes is doing the exact opposite of hanging it up, they're putting it out there and they know people will watch. Keep your eye on the Neilson ratings next week and it'll prove it.

- In the long run, all they are doing is promoting a show on Fox. When the best thing 60 minutes can come up with is interviewing Simon Cowell, I think it's pretty safe to say its time to hang it up. If you can't see that then I can't help you.

- manta6...CBS isn't doing the Simon Cowell interview to "promote" FOX. They are doing the interview so they can jump on the FOX bandwagon. It's a brilliant move by CBS...take the arguably most controversial judge from the biggest, most successful show in the industry right now and put him in front of a camera and you've got yourself some pretty serious ratings headed your way. Although it may appear as though one network is promoting the other, you can be sure that is not the case.

- Drb91, you are wrong, you can have an ear for music and not have a bit of training. My aunt never had any training, vocal or instrumental, but can sit down and play a piano without music, by ear. I've seen others have the same gift. Although sometimes he could use different words, Simon knows what he talking about most of the time about the contestants. I was a music major.

- Simon is very blunt in his comments but the likes of people like Gordon Ramsey (Hell's Kitchen) and Simon are paid to make the truly hard decisions and they do it quite well.
