Do I believe in this war? No I do not. Do I feel that the American public was lied to by the White House, its staff, Congress, the Military leaders and Joints Chiefs of Staff about the reasons why we went to war? Yes I do. Do I support the American servicemen and women who are fighting in this war? Hell yes I do. Why do I say that you ask? I volunteered to serve my country during the Viet Nam War in 1974 but was stationed on the East Coast by the Navy. I had friends and family who went to fight that war and some of them did not return home. But I remembered how we servicemen was treated by the Media, our country's leaders and by the American public. I remember how some of the Holloywood people went to North Viet Nam and called our troops who where in prison camps traitors and murderers because they fought the North Vietnemese and how the American people hated them. I remember walking through the airport in Atlanta, Ga from flying home and being spit upon by an American and called a "Baby killer". I swore then that if I had a son and they had to go to war that they would never be treated the way my fellow servicemen and I was treated by America. Well my son is now being station there and when he comes home I will be *** if he gets treated the way I was by our country. Pres. Bush should be removed from office any way possible. He has lied to American on more than just this war.

I am absolutely sick and tired of hearing, "have you forgotten about 9/11??" Iraq had NOTHING to do with 9/11. Also tired of hearing, well these men and women are over there protecting our freedoms. Bullcrap.....Iraq has nothing to do with our freedoms. If you believe that, then you are not paying attention. Private war, made up enemy.....our military is truly a pond in bush's private agenda. That should make you mad as hell.

All of you are completly insane! Do any of you have the first clue as to what you are actually doing by supporting either the appeal for redress or the appeal for courage. You are in fact supporting and encouraging the military to segregate and pick sides. You are asking the armed forces to pit themselves against each other. This is the larger and more destructive result of this whole idiotic movement. I serve in the Army, so I can say this to you...I fight where I am told to fight for the soldier next to me or the soldier that is below my helicopter and needs my help. These men and women are America. The poloticians sent us to war for there reasons but we fight for our fellow brothers and sisters at arms. You should all be ashamed of yourself for supporting either of these petitions.

"I will not tarnish the memory of these brave men and women by talking against what they were trying to do."
Posted by mark91968

Cut it out. No one is speaking out against brave men and what they are trying to do. People who run to wrap themselves in the flag and use "support the troops" as a political football expose the emptiness of their arguments and their willingness to exploit the troops for politics. These types of accusatons shouldn't even be acknowledged. It's bull scheisse.

"We have done good! Too bad the media refuses to show this."

When you were in school and you took a test, you can get more than half the problems right and still fail. We have failed over there. That's what's wrong. It's still warfare. Bombs, guns and violence. Whatever few things may have gone right, we've failed on the most important and we've failed overall. We need to bring everyone home.

That's nothing against you or any brave men and women. That's for everyone's best interests.

Appeal for Redress
Sign this Appeal.
This site is an Appeal For Redress in support of our mission in Iraq.
An Appeal For Redress is an authorized means for active duty military to submit a grievance to Congress. It can be signed by Active Duty, Reserve, or National Guard military personnel.
It is authorized by DoD Directive 1325.6 and DoD Directive 7050.6.
The wording of the Appeal for Redress is:
As an American currently serving my nation in uniform, I respectfully urge my political leaders in Congress to fully support our mission in Iraq and halt any calls for retreat. I also respectfully urge my political leaders to actively oppose media efforts which embolden my enemy while demoralizing American support at home. The War in Iraq is a necessary and just effort to bring freedom to the Middle East and protect America from further attack.
If you are active duty, reservist or national guard, please Sign this Appeal.
Most service members fully support the war in Iraq and feel calls to retreat by Congress and attacks by our media on our conduct and mission act to motivate our enemy while demoralizing our support at home, directly increasing the threat we face and resulting in greater American casualties. This Appeal for Redress provides a way in which individual service members can appeal to Congress to fully support us and actively oppose media attacks on our mission and our morale.
This Appeal will be delivered to members of Congress.

All right. Yada, yada, yada.
Is 60 Minutes going to provide equal time, and a story on Military Personnel who believe the troops and the surge should continue?
I would be willing to bet big that they can get two to three times as many signatures on a petition for the troops to remain until their work is done?
What say you, CBS? Or is that too favorable a story for you to persue?
Hmm . . .

With all due respect, my husband has been and currently is an officer in the Army for 16 years. I have followed him all over the world and endured many separations, including one tour in Iraq. No spouse or family member wants to have a loved one in Iraq, or in any war for that matter! Have you all forgotten what happened in New York? If we were not taking on terrorism in the middle east, where do you think all the road side bombs and suicide bombers would be?!? They would be right back here on our own soil attacking us. If we don't keep our presence in the middle east, they WILL attack us here. They have done it once, and will continue to try again and again. This is a serious issue. Do I want my husband and father of 5 to go back to the middle east and possibly die? HELL NO! Do I want a safe America for my kids, HELL YES. If that means having my husband go to the middle east for a war that some think is questionable, then so be it. That is what the Armed Forces is. Don't join if you don't want to go to war! You may find it hard to justify a war when you see your friend shot or blown up, but that could have easly been 27 people at 8am getting coffee at a local starbucks right here in the U.S. I truly can't understand why people cant see that if we were not there, the terrorist would be here.

There are approximately 1400 names on their stupid petition. Somewhere near the thousand mark is a CPO Richard Hertz, a totally notional name I made up after reading about the Stennis heading toward the Gulf. I wonder if Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and I.P. Freely signed up as well.

The "petition" is a joke.

Who has a greater right to speak out against this insane War Against Iraq? The soldiers that are there and put their lives on the line.

This war has done far more damage to Iraqi's than Saddam ever could, and it's damaged America's credibility (what little there was) in the world and dooms future generations of Americans to acts of terror. This war on Iraq has done far more harm to America(ns) than Al-Qaida could have ever done beforehand.

As a 2-time Iraq war veteran, I stand along side of the other patriotic soldiers who joined the Army after 9/11, yet are abused by the politicians that lied to America and committed us to this atrocious screw-up.

Yea, I guess Bush figured he owed a Medal Of Honor to someone who went to the war he didn't go to.

Bush is playing all of us against each other! In one hand he is touting the Red White and Blue war on Terror against everyone who attacked us on 911 and on the other hand he is funding Al Qaeda to destabilize an counter other governments in the Middle East! The recently resigned terrorist Czar ask for a demotion to deputy Secretary of State Because he did not want to be tangled up with another Iran Contra style Funding Fiasco that is going on in Lebanon. Here is the stream read it yourself!

Just copy up to the Hersh on the news stream this web site is adding a n on the end of the paste!

Iran Contra, al Qaeda Lebanon same oh same oh! The Bush Administration is covertly supporting a minimum of three Sunni al Qaeda organizations in Lebanon to act as a buffer against the Shiite Hezbollah. Yes and the money is coming from the billions of dollars unaccounted for from Iraq! This support is not regulated by Congress, is in direct contravention to the WAR on TERROR the NEOCONS expound, and is under the same pretext as the Iran Contra Scandal of the late 1980s! This was reported by Wolf Blitzer yesterday on CNN and again tonight!

Email your senators and representatives and tell them your views! LET THEM KNOW YOU KNOW OF THIS DIRTY LITTLE SECRET!
