- The brain isn't meant to see itself. I am convinced of that after meeting more crazy people in the field of psychology than any other.

- If Daniel believes in the Bible...if he were to read the book of Revelation...what would his thoughts be on the numbers in John's vision?
6 trumpet judgments on the 7th "it is done"
6 vial judgments on the 7th "it is done"
and so forth...

- Hi, The interview with Daniel Tammet was truly wonderful. I was very suprised to see an actual interview with someone concerning synesthesia.
I wrote an essay a while back about my synesthesia with sounds, 'Visions Of Bravado', and have always been interested in learning more about people who also have these visions. (Trust me I'm no genius!!)
I have to say that you're the first 'real' news show that I've seen go into it at all. So for that, Thank You ~ Mandi - Reply to this comment
- I found this story captivating. I didn't catch the entire feature on Daniel but it's amazing how he learned a foreign language in seven days!!! His comments about forgetting faces after an hour was interesting. I wonder why that occurs and how much time he has to spend with someone before he instantly recognizes them? His book could be interesting to read.

- According to everything I've read, Kim Peek is the inspiration for Rain Man, not George Finn as represented by Mr. Safer.

- My son read the newspapers, dictionary, weather maps at 3 years old. He had a grand mal seizure at 7 years old. When he is excited he rubs his hands together for several minutes. He is now 25 years old and unlike this young man, my son is dependent. Please do more segments like this one, but about the less successful young adults who live with parents and are unable to find a job or be independent. Maybe then we can get some help for them.

- Daniel Tammets official website is http://www.optimnem.co.uk/
and I do not know, if you can find his book there, but it is a good place to start. Also, try this one -
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daniel_Tammet
that should be a great place to start.

- Thoroughly enjoyed the segment on Daniel Tammet. I did not catch the name of his book and if available in the states. Also interested if there is a website for him.

- The 60 Minutes coverage of savants and Daniel Tamments was very interesting to many. You however made a mistake when talking about, "Rainman - The movie." The mistake is that, that movie was based on Kim Peek who lives in Salt Lake City, and Kim Peek is at the library there in his local town almost everyday. In addition, Dustin Hoffmans only request for making the movie was that, they share Kim Peek's amazing ability with the world
Both Kim Peek and Daniel Tammet was in Discovery Channels, "Brainman." I just thought, that since the movie Rainman was mentioned, that the proper savant should be associated with the movie.

ps sorry for the mis-spelled words. But I am in good company, Einstein failed Spelling/Grammer in grade school. - Reply to this comment
- Daniel Tammet saw numbers as landscapes, look at the landscape that was in the broadcast but turn it sideways...looks like a profile of a man! Wonderful segment.

- I do believe there are more than 50 savants in the world.

- Can you provide me the website of Daniel Tammet, "Brain Man"?
I thoroughly enjoyed this segment of "60 Minutes." - Reply to this comment
- You missed a huge opportunity. What about his creative power with numbers. What about higher math, other than arithmetic. Can he comment on something like Fermat's theorem? What about a differential equation. Very very disappointing interview
