- Ourtomorrow,,, Now look at the example of "democracy" Bush wants to show other nations... In fact Middle East problems where having elections other than Iraq before Bush - They had democracy in it's youth as we did... Bush's actions have disrupted the entire region & with it one hellofa chunck out of our national security. -- Bush is driving countries away from democracy.

- Ourtommorrow,,,, Changing the region,, Let's talk about that.... Bush now says "Congress and the American people can't stop me" - We've become the agressor nation of the world.... History even shows how wrong that is, it also gives you thier best weapon against us - TIME.... We can be there for the next 500 years, & as the French & British found out - NOTHING WILL CHANGE,, IT IS THIER COUNTRIES & THIER REGION.

And as you will note from my post, I was not defending President Grant or his actions. My point was that it is unfair to paint all Republicans with the same brush. I won't keep wasting everyone's time with my, as someone so nicely but it, "delusional tripe." I do study history, I am a teacher and I guess to me I believe that Sadam Hussein was a growing threat that needed, once and for all to be dealt with. That countless security council resolutions, slaughtered thousands of his own people, and that, when we did remove him, we did so under the authority of past UN Security Council resolutions. We are not popular in Iraq, but I know of no poll that shows the majority of Iraquis wanted Mr. Hussein back. I believe President Bush has envisioned a new day for the Middle East and that Iraq is the first step. That he believes the policies of his predecessors were wrong, that the days of patchwork agreements that only delay the next conflict are gone. He believes that democratic ideals if firmly planted in Iraq, could in, time, maybe a few generations even, change the region for the better and that a stable middle east means a safer US. I believe that history will prove him right. - Reply to this comment

- This article is another example of Big Media using hyperbole to influence public opinion.
'Going for broke' - give me a break!
Adding 21,000 troops to the existing 132,000 troops is a 16% increase. And is really about a 4.6% increase when you put it context and add in the Iraqi Army and police at 323,000. - Reply to this comment
