After watching 60 Minutes last night, I was upset and ready to fire off a letter to the newspaper in Cumberland MD. Imagine my surprise when I did a search in their paper and found that Joe Darby is considered a hero by the majority of people in that town. While he probably does have to worry about some lone nutball there, he does have tremendous support. You did a disservice to the people of Cumberland by not updating your story with the response to the original story in Cumberland. You should apologize to them and to your viewers. My opinion of 60 Minutes has been damaged by this reporting.

You know he's supported by these people HOW? From "Letter's to the Editor"? Don't know much about stupid Red Necks bent on harming someone who does the right thing do you? They do NOT write the Editor of the paper, they load their Deer Rifle and shoot people who do not agree with their narrow minded view. Making such statements is harmful to all ESPECIALLY those who would speak out against these losers. Sieg Heil Bush!

The people of Cumberland should be ashamed of their reaction to what is simply put, the moral and proper thing to do. Mr. Darby deserves the Congressional Medal of Honor for what he has endured for his fellow mankind. Soldiers are not out there just to protect Americans but to protect those who are unable to protect themselves. I am not honored by soldiers who commit dishonorable acts and say they do it as part of their duty. I was a soldier, and I would not be honored by stepping foot in a town that dishonored Mr. Darby. What he did is actually what we are fighting for. I salute you Mr. Darby. Shame on your home town for letting you down.

Joe Darby did the right thing! All the residents of his home town, who have threatened him and his family, are the ones who should be ashamed of their actions! Good Job Mr. Darby! You did what any true American would, or should, do in a situation like that!
Thank You!
