Russell Crowe is a great actor. I wonder what would be revealed in the lives of other actors if they underwent the same level of scrutiny as Russell Crowe. No wonder Charlie Chaplin spent the rest of his days in Switzerland after the Sen McCarthy hearings in the 50s.

I was very disappointed in the Russell Crowe interview. He is probably an interesting guy and he rarely does interviews. Someone needs to come up with better questions than the ones Steve Kroft asked. This is 60 Minutes not Entertainment Tonight. I had hoped for more. Steve Kroft has done some great pieces but this one was not working. Lighten up. He's an actor not a world leader. With what's going on in the world now a intersting, perhaps amusing interview would have been great. Really missed on this one.

Suggestion to how to improve life in USA and get help in War effort:

Gather all lawyers, lobbiests, and politicians, give them M-16 and drop them off at Iraq and Afghanistan to fight so called "enemies". That will help this country tremendously.

Hummm might be hope for one after all. I never thought so before now, but if he can stay happily married, he might turn out OK.

I agree with one of the bloggers on here that this is one of the worst interviewers ever. The questions he asked of Crowe were not insightful and very trite

Well I've paid to see one of his movies (The Gladiator);that was before he proved to the world he's a total arrogant ******. I have never patronized the theatre or rented a DVD to see one of his movies since, and I never will again.

bluestardad - you're a complete idiot. Only thing worse than a fool is a *** fool, and a semi-functioning illiterate one at that.

I suggest "spell check". And maybe remedial English, starting around the grade six level.

well , I wrote service for new cars at a dealership a long time ago, most of the folks were ok but a lot would dump on me because their new car took a shi@.

This guy Crowe reminded me of that job and the folks that think they are better then you and it's ok. if they treat you like shi@.

I remember I was having the mother of all bad day's and a Russel Crowe type dumped on me hard. I said "Why don't you come back at five o'clock, when I am done working here, talk to me the way you are now, and watch what happens to you". I got called on the carpet for threatening a customer, but it was worth it!
One of these days Crowe will dump on the wrong person, and get his as@ kicked!

Next, for all who agree with me about Russell Crowe, Honor Him by go to see and buying all his movies. He is a champion for veracity. We need more role models like him, when you err, apologize. When you speak honestly, you are the light of strength and honor.

Russell Crowe is the best actor of this era. Hollywood on the other hand is no better than the same parasites who control governments, economies and mass doses of BS for their justification to power.

A similar violent act happened this past weekend in Massachusetts , where a 57 yr. old man threw a cup of scolding hot large cup of coffee on a 17 yr. server because he didn't want to pay the sales tax on the coffee. He said that she "gave him attitude", so he felt he had every right to throw a large scolding coffee into her face and chest. He fled the scene.

He was arrested at his home and they are seeking 5-7 years jailtime for assault with a deadly weapon. She has also filed a civil lawsuit against him as well for damages and pain & suffering. She was transported to the Hospital and later transferred to the Shriners Burn Unit where she is today.

Sounds like Russell Crowe's situation ? Yes it does. EXCEPT that because he was Russell Crowe , he got off with a slap on the wrist and a minor fine , although he did pay Nestor Estrada a rumored six figures to settle a civil suit.

Violence is never the answer. Losing one's temper is one thing, but to act violently is another.

What a shame Steve Kroft had such a limited view of what his interview with Russell could be. He proclaims that Russell Crowe is one of the best working actors today and yet spends his time with him dragging over old news and old history. I rarely watch news programs and here's an excellent example of why.

sandycat..the fact that we are not going after the nuke countries like N Korea or Iran is because of a lack of natural resources in the area?
Iraq was not part of 911. Saudi Arabia and Afganistan (bannana stand) was...thats were the War should be.

I whole-heartedly agree with Russell Crowe's comments about our legal system being misused. I would be interested, though disappointed, to see how many frivilous lawsuits are currently on court dockets. Used to - in the U.S. - a disagreement was handled with a handshake and an apology - not via a lawsuit. I love the U.S. - it is the best; however, there is always room for improvement.

Mr Kroft's ending remark about not getting "slugged" was to me the lowest point of the interview!

Russell Crowe handled himself as a true gentleman and very good sport. 60 Minutes is suppose to be a news magazine, not trash TV.

"Strength and Honor" is what Mr. Crowe has and more sadly what Hollywood and the Media lack.

Lesson learned: Russell Crowe has character, and is focused to be the best actor he can be. He is box office gold and looking forward to seeing him in action.

Russell Crowe is a gifted actor.
He was right about the legal system. We all know that.
As a man he is straight forward, honest, playful and careful of his TV surroundings. He knew what to say to keep 60 minutes happy and still keep his straight, honesty, and manhood intact. I say Bravo! Men today need to take a page from Crowe's Book.
Thank you,

Who cares? The public and the media. Although there are a few people out there who lack interest in the lives of the rich and famous, there is a good reason E! does so well with television shows based on the lives of celebrities.
I thought this was a good interview. Crowe himself stated that he feels he is somewhat misunderstood and this gave him an opportunity to give us the information straight from the horses mouth.
