- The Country needs a change, some fresh ideas, fresh faces, idealists that can change the currenty foreign policy. People who will work at uniting the country instead of dividing it.
Vote out the incumbents of both parties.
When possible, vote for term limits.
It seems to me that the current pols are only interested in the status quo and to continue feeding in the governments money trough. - Reply to this comment
- This comment is to amsjoe... I hear you spewing your hate of dems, but you have offered NO FACTS to support your love of Bush either. Here are some real facts for you...
The fact is that while economic growth has been strong, it has been unduly concentrated among a smaller number of people, greater than historically the case. Corporate profits are going up, while wages are down.
Quoting Alan Greenspan, the incomes for the Rich have gone up disproportionately. If you look at national income, the percentage of national income that has gone to corporate profits has nearly doubled under the Republican administration. While, the percentage that goes to wages has dropped. Wages have barely ticked up, counting inflation, a very tiny, less than 1 percent over the last year. Over the Bush years, they are down some. Wages greatly lag productivity, which means we are all working much harder for a lot less money. Quoting Alan Greenspan again, we have greatly increased wealth, but almost all of the increased wealth has gone to the owners of capitol, and none has none to the people who work for wages. And... our national Debt is now 8 = TRILLION Dollars. The average American now owes 28k dollars on that debt as of last week. - Reply to this comment

- im not going to say i love nancy pelosi..but i think she is right about 1 thing.. our country has gone downhill ever scince bush took office...im ready for somthing new..
but when wounded ,like our country is ..we only have one choice !!!!stop the bleeding!!...elect democrats to congress... unfortunatly its the lesser of two evils.reality is we dont have another choice.. the republican hipocrits and smearing liars need to go!! THEY HAVE REVERSED US 20 YEARS!! we need a real discussion about how to get out of iraq!! .. WHICH HAS MADE US LESS SAFE!! AND IF THE BUSH ADMIN REALLY CARED ABOUT NATIONAL SECURITY WE WOULD HAVE A COMPREHENSIVE ENERGY INDEPENDENCE STRATEGY TO REDUCE OR ELIMINATE THE NEED FOR FORIGEN OIL ..SOLAR PANELS ON EVERY ROOF IN AMERICA(HOOK THEM ALL TOGETHER) DEVELOP NEW CLEANER RENEWABLE GREEN FUELS
WHEN WILL PEOPLE FIGURE OUT WE ARE FINANCING TERRORISM JUST DRIVING TO WORK..WE NEED NEW IDEAS BUT FIRST WE NEED TO GET OUT OF THIS HUGE FAILURE IN IRAQ..AS FOR FIGHTING THEM THERE INSTEAD OF HERE ...AMERICANS BETTER THAN ANYONE UNDERSTAND THE BENIFITS OF THE "HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE" IM JUST SORRY THAT SO MANY PEOPLE HAD TO LOSE THEIR LIVES BEFORE BUSH GOT THE IDEA..YOU CANT SOLVE PROBLEMS BY FORCE ESPECIALLY ON THEIR TURF.. - Reply to this comment
- While Democrats offer a new direction for America, President Bush, Karl Rove, and Republicans in Congress offer nothing but fear. Last week, commenting on Republican strategy for the last weeks of the campaign, GOP advisor Mary Matalin said what Republicans will do in the remaining time will be to hammer home what a Pelosi-Rangel-Conyers House would really mean. We know what it would really mean: real security for America and a new direction in Iraq; an increase in the minimum wage; college access for all... energy independence; affordable health care and retirement security.

- I'm diasappointed to hear Ms. Pelosi say that impeaching the President would be a watse of time and that making GW Bush a lame duck is enough for her. What ever happened to holding people accountable for their actions and decisions? GW Bush lied to the American people, has wasted lives and money in pursuit of an illeagal war, directly contributed to the deaths of thousands of Iraqi and Afghan civilians... Ms. Pelosi does not deserve to hold the position of House Speaker of she's not even prepared to uphold her duty to protect and defend the Constitution.

- Pelosi epitomizes what exactly is wrong with US politics. Her quest is for personal and party power, and a victory in the ideological column. She and her crony Dems broker power for what they believe, without regard for 'we the people.' She is going to show those republicans and it is going to cost you and I alike. Her interview was putrid slime as I did not hear anything other that partisanship, and we (Dems) are smarter that anyone else. Down with the two party stranglehold on US politics!

- I see they've given them their morning debriefing, handed them their talking points memo and released the Fox brigade to swarm the internet with more mindless spew.

- Be Ever Vigilant. Bush and Rove will do anything to stay in power up to an including flooding key districts with fake absentee ballots tampering with electronic voting machines, and bussing in voters who are not from the districts to vote, or even starting another war with and suspending civil liberties postponing the mid term vote. There is a great possibility for this administration to tamper with the electronic voting machines to the point that very subtle differences will take place in Key races just enough to tip the vote in their favor but not enough to cause a full scale American Revolution leaving some doubt, but just enough to throw key races in the Republican Favor. Watch out for this election coup.

- amsjoe,
Care to guess how many people might be saved with stem cell research? How many disadvantaged Americans die because of inadequate health care? Are there differences in infant mortality rates among the different economic classes in America? How many more have died in the workplace because you guys lowered safety standards? Is that just "tough luck" in your view? And how many will die in Iraq today? - Reply to this comment
- No Pelosi is not a hateful person just ask NAMBLA an organization that she took contributions from. She loves everyone including grown men who sleep with little boys. Need I say more. jh6379 get a clue.

- I saw the interview - nice puff piece intended to make Mrs. Pelosi look good. I was startled when she said that the only reason the bad guys are in Iraq is because we're there (like it's a bad thing). Does she think that they'd just disappear if we left? I think that they'd follow us home.
My campaign slogan - "The woman can't even dress herself - do you really want her as Speaker of the House?" - Reply to this comment
- Pelosi would be a better President than the one we have now, almost anyone would. Be Ever Vigilant. Bush and Rove will do anything to stay in power up to an including flooding key districts with fake absentee ballots tampering with electronic voting machines, and bussing in voters who are not from the districts to vote, or even starting another war and suspending civil liberties postponing the mid term vote.

- The piece will undermine the Republican efforts to demonize Pelosi somewhat. It is almost laughable the extent to which some bloggers and columnnist will go to scare voters about Pelosi "two heartbeats away."
Well, in case nobody noticed, we have a much scarier prospect "two heartbeats away" - Denny Hastert. Why anyone would think that Pelosi is scarier than Hastert in that role is beyond me. Hastert is more partisan, more divisive, and completely corrupt.

At least Pelosi does not need to earmark taxpayer funds for a "highway to nowhere" to drive up the value of property and sell for a profit as Hastert did.
