- This message is for Andrew Madoff. I watched 60 minutes this evening. I heard you say you could never forgive your dad. What he did should have never happened, but forgiving is for you.You are in an understandable state, but in not forgiving you are letting your dad have a hold on you. Don't give him that power, forgive him and move on with your life. You are the one walking around with those feelings bottled inside of you.

- Now really, People have not forgotten the pain they caused and wiped out. The wife couldn't hsve lived her lavish life and not know something was just not right. All the people close to them must have known something was just not right over the years. I think no one really wants to hear from anyone of the madoff's The press should have known about the madoff's and their fraud of the ponzy.

Against my better judgement, i watched to Madoff segment tonight. I am still at a loss for words, watching Mrs. Madoffs interview. I was not burned by Madoff and I have never even had more than $1000 to my name at any given point in my life. But I have worked my ass off and have worked two jobs for the last ten years just to put my children through college. I am not unhappy, with my life or my choices. I am a single parent who has raised two wonderful children to be honest, productive citizens.
Mrs. Madoff makes me want to throw up. How dare she sit there during the interview and act like a drugged up zombie. Her son commited suicide because of her husbands actions and her voice never quivered,let alone shed a tear. As a mother, it is beyond me how she could even do an interview. She should have stayed locked away and kept her mouth shut. She acted stupid, sounded stupid, and doesnt seemto be grieving the loss of her son. She appears to be a self centered,puppet-like ignorant woman. She should be ashamed of herself.
This new media blitz with interviews from her and family memebers, books, etc. is just another way for them to rip off the american public. I hope your viewers are smart and do not fall in their trap.
Something tells me this was all Bernie Madoffs idea.

- Two comments. First, I'm disappointed that Morley Safer didn't ask Andrew why he hasn't offered to give back much of the money he received. As Morley pointed out, his father compensated his sons generously, bought them houses, paid for divorce settlements. While Andrew worked within a separate business, there was crossover, possibly generous gifts. If Andrew is indeed so indignant, why is a lawsuit needed to access those funds for the victims?
Second, Ruth said her suicide attempt was impulsive and she didn't remember the number of pills she took. I don't know. It was an impulsive decision but she had time to access and mail jewelry to her son. Second, I'm a physician and it seems to me that it would be unusual for someone not to remember the number of pills taken during a suicide attempt. After all, the pills are the weapon, I'm dubious to the fact that she doesn't remember the number of pills taken. - Reply to this comment
- First of all I detest liar and a thief and the only thing this family knows is the love of money and greed.They have no shame for what they did and you can bet your bottom dollar the whole family was in on the sceme.When they had that family meeting I can bet the mastermind chose to take the brunt of what he created.Telling them, save yourselves and I'll take the punishment.And the wife,she has no remorse,the only thing she is worried about is saving face.While she chooses to give the grandkids her prize possessions.Well excuse me but you just gave someone's lifesaving,a college education for a son or daughter or what about the woman who worked endless hours to make a better life for herself and knowing that the money she invested was safe and secure but instead you were out living a posh life.What about the story of those lives that you took millions from.The hardships they had to go through and are still going through.YOU STRIPPED AWAY PEOPLES LIVES!! DO YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT THAT MEANS!!AND YOU COULDN'T HAVE YOUR WORTHLESS HUSBAND ARRESTED IF YOU KNEW ABOUT IT!!! WHO ON EARTH DO YOU THINK YOU ARE TRYING TO KID!! - Why is CBS so fixated on the Madoff's? These people were evil, Maddoff is in prison and the world should go on. They've ruined enough peoples lives than to have CBS or the media keep bringing up their names. Ruth and Andrew should slink away into oblivion and be glad they are not in prison.

- Did anyone else notice that she has TOTALLY had a face lift since the last time we all saw her? The NERVE of her to have plastic surgery and be worried about having wrinkles when her husband has ruined the lives of so many. Any tears from her and her son are just a phoney little act. If she was genuinely sorry that last thing on her mind would be getting a face lift. I wonder how many of her husbands victims have the option to have a face lift?

- Poor Ruth, she got hate calls and so they tried to kill themselves, isn't life hard? I don't buy the suicide, they took a sleeping pill but they would not kill themselves, that is what convinced me she is lying. She says she couldn't walk down the street afraid people would recognize her and then she goes on TV to get sympathy. She is another rich woman who liked the money and did not care where it came from, then she tries to hide assets by sending jewelry to her children. These are just more rich people who see themselves as above the rest of us, Bernie is a low level Enterprise guy hoping to be one of the big guys. He got caught because he isn't very good, now imagine the guys that own the world and have hundreds of millions or hundreds of billions of dollars. The more Ruth says she is telling the truth, the less I believe her.
