- Why on earth would Obama appoint G.E head to be the job czar? his first loyalty is to G.E. How dare he admit that on tv and accept the appointment? How dare Obama appoint him? This is why its obvious Obama will never get us out of our jobs nitemare!!!!With millions of good americans out of work I also find it offensive to see Immult laugh so much during his interview. He took the job to get us jobs. I say he hasn't a clue on how to do it . Now he should resign & make way for someone who will put AMERICA first.

- Okay, Mr. Immelt. I'll cheer for you and G.E. if you cheer for me. I have purchased G.E. products, so in return, I'll expect you to buy my art work. My most expensive painting is $20k. Go to my website where you'll find my address. I'll be looking for your check in the mail. Let the cheering begin! www.paularagsdale.com

- I can only say of this man.. Fascist in a global world.....this article sure downplays how his company led the exodus upon which America suffers it's economic nightmare for decades to come in this new world order of a century.

- Companies such as these are destroying the middle class with their greed. There is no patriotism, no empathy for hard-working families,no social conscience. Mr. Immelt says he wants to win. With a lack of employment or wages that promote a minimal lifestyle, there will be no winners here. What about less investment overseas on their part and a high import tax on our part to encourage the success of our economy?

- I watched Immelt on 60 minutes with an open mind hoping to see something positive come from one of our nations top CEOs. What I saw was a man who was arrogant and doing his best to come across as a good ole American. What a sham this man is. He could never repair the damage he has caused to this country and he is okay with that. In his own words, he owes nothing to corporate citizenship-just to his shareholders. And only for the the short term. And he wants to keep seeling out America at a lower tax rate. What a nerve this guy has. He owes nothing to America but once lower corporate taxes plus tax holidays so people like him can profit even more at the tax payer's expense. He is why people are in the streets. He is why America has become a Plutocracy. He is why there are more people in poverty now than ever before. But that is okay. He only cares about his shareholders. What a pathetic leader.

- Once upon a time, 60 Minutes was the type of news show that would hold someone like Jeffrey Immelt to task and demand real answers. Once upon a time, a news magazine like 60 Minutes would not have allowed Jeffrey Immelt to make such outrageous comments unchallenged. It was sickening to watch 20 minutes of Mr; Immelt, the poster child for all that is wrong with US and western industry, spew his rah rah GE, rah rah me, on the 60 Minutes Infomercial

- I agree with you? last post/ about buying GE. Normally would debate the pros and cons but this CEO Immelt is so arrogant I will never buy GE again. he does not get what is going on with the Wall Street protests.
It is simple: GE is an international company stealing our taxes and jobs. We should feel NO loyalty to him and that cheerleader line about cheering him on is just about as sick as I have ever heard . no man that dumb should be head of an international corporation.
The report was good. Soft but if you just listened to him, you get the point.
Since I think GE and ABC are linked I will avoid them to. (I know ... what does one person matter. ) But I bet a lot of folks will. - Reply to this comment
- Jeff wants Americans to cheer him on, ask Jeff about selling infrastructure equipment to Iran, a country that is a recognized state sponsor of terror and was supplying Iraqi insurgents with platter charge improvisational explosive devices, also known as Explosively Formed Penetrators, that were maiming and killing American soldiers. Immelt defended his business dealings with Iran by saying "The issue of whether to conduct business in certain countries is complex; we must take into account not only the views of the U.S. Government but all relevant stakeholders."
Also, when Immelt took over GE in 2001, the stock price stood at $39.66. Last week it closed at $15.50, down $24.16 bucks in ten years. So GE stockholders have actually lost big money in that time. - Reply to this comment
