- In my opinion, Greg Mortenson is the Face of America on its best day. His work is our best hope for peace in a troubled world. We should support him and the wonderful work he is doing.

- You are looking for stories that are embellished....well.... This attack on Greg Mortenson is a fine example of writing that is embellished to establish a story, sell air time and make money. Your company, station and writers ( that are paid huge salaries) should be ashamed of what they are trying to ruin. This man has stepped up to an impossible situation and made a huge difference in that world and it will be felt for generations. What is wrong with you and your staff, that you have to go after a man that has given his life to help others. This is not a man that even likes public speaking or big crowds. Help him in this impossible situation, don't tear him and his work down. I am totally disgusted and appalled that you even considered this is a story for 60 minutes. I used to think that 60 minutes had integrity, by doing this story, you have become just a rag, out for a juicy story, even if it isn't true. Do the right thing and pull this off the air before you embarrass your self and our country in the eyes of the whole world. He is doing a tremendous job, where governments can even attempt to accomplish what he is doing. What were you thinking???

- I have raised money with my students more than once for this worthwhile charity. A story like this will be devastating to the students who I work with. Why is it that the news can drag good people through the mud and not be held accountable for truthful reporting. Please read the story form the Bozeman Chronicle - posted earlier on this page. Greg gets to answer some of the accusations made by 60 Minutes.

Steve Kroft should be ashamed. His shotty reporting could do harm to the children's education of Afghanistan and Pakistan. Jon Krakauer is a hypocrite. - Reply to this comment
- It would be very upsetting to me if anyone's skimming from CAI - though if you've read the books, you wouldn't at all be surprised to find out there might be some sloppy accounting. Whatever the count of schools is or who gets credit for what, the important thing is that they have done something to educate people, girls especially, in Afghanistan and Pakistan, to try to pull them into the 21st century and end the violence. Educated women don't let their sons strap on bombs, and the people kind of appreciate help that doesn't involve blowing up their villages - we've been doing that for 10 years with little apparent progress. I hope this works out and they can continue their important work.

- This is ridiculous, do you really think that the men you tracked down are going to tell Western Media the truth. I hate to tell you this but this is probably the end of your career. People are going to come out of the woodwork to defend this guy. I think the real story is, why does Jon Krakauer want to slander this gentleman?
Didn't he make millions off the death of some guy who died in Alaska that he didn't even know? My guess is Mr. Mortensen's story is valid and that he's more into the philanthropy than keeping track of his money. I'm going to quote Pat Tillman's brother Richard, when asked about Jon Kratkaur after he who a book about Pat Tillman. "That guy's a piece of ...." - Reply to this comment
