nagin makes another uneducated comment, i was in N.Y.C. last week, saw the WTC, looks like they are getting a tremendous amount done compared to "poo-orleans", i meant n.o., sorry, from now on,Do not relate the rest of La with n.o., most of these comments are apparently very uneducated, to avoid looking like an idiot, refrain from making uneducated comments. Only people to blame for what happened in n.o. is the government officials of new orleans (specific to n.o, not of the state of La nor the U.S., include the governor herself, anyway, blame the right people, they're the ones who didn't mandate a mandatory evacuation in time, left the educated, working people behind. Nagin and the rest of his uneducated and unworking population (excluding healthcare workers) did what they do best, blame someone else, like blame president Bush, that is lame and an attempt to pawn the problem on someone else, while those Doctors, Nurses, and other healthcare workers were trying to keep patients alive, Nagin and the rest of his posse were on dry ground, with electriciy, running water, and food. If majority of La were asked there thoughts on rebuilding new orleans, and it be done anonymously, they would say its better off not being rebuilt, its just going to become another roach-rat-scum-suck off the government every penny they can get to sit on the porch all day and do nothing but watch there 50 inch TV's S$%t hole. I'm out.

THE SURROUNDING AREAS THAT HAVE TO PUT UP WITH THE STENCH,POLLUTION AND POSSIBLE HEALTH HAZARDS OF NEW ORLEANS AND IT'S FAILURE TO CLEAN UP AND MOVE FORWARD SHOULD BRING SUIT AGAINST THE CITY ADMINISTRATION AND OWNERS OF ALL THIS PRIVATE PROPERTY..LIENS COULD BE PLACED ON THEM AND THEREFORE THEY WOULD BECOME PUBLIC PROPERTY AND COULD CLEANED UP BY NAGGING NAGIN AND CREW.

It is stupid to build a city ten feet below sea level. It is crazy to rebuild it. This is all a horrible waste of huge amounts of tax money.

If the people of NO want to rebuild their homes in a hole in the ocean, let them do it. For them to sit around begging for FEMA money and whining when they don't get more is disgusting. No one who acts like that deserves any respect.

And for the people of NO to re-elect an incompetent fool like Nagin after he has proven that he is unfit for any position....well....folks usually get the leaders they deserve.

i agree with chevy those NO. people are completely are ungraitful and the funny part is on the news i hear and see two things all the blacks have been shooting at military aid aircraft ******* and side note calling president bush raceist (i didn't know Ms.Rice was white and apponited her Seceratary of State) second was for as far as the clean up group i see MOSTLY every other race but black on the news helping rebuilding and buying property and reparing it for use so the city doesn't have to pay for it and they want money now? we are Fighting wars on 2 fronts dealing with the burden of 9/11 and cleaning up in NO. im not raceist but i get offended when MOSTLY blacks try to use the race card well im white quit being raceist against us! but i do give credit to the black personal in uniform at least there helping but as for the rest we should of shipped them to afica and said so long cause chew me out i aint rich and i only attack the complainers the thing about america is you are free to help YOURSELF and not begg for help!

It's easy for everyone to comment on what's not happening in New Orleans. But look at the big picture. When the tsunami hit Indonesia, the American government rushed to their ad within 2 days with billions of dollars. In New Orleans it took over a week for anything to happen. With the world trade building, clean up started immediately afterwards with assistance from the federal government. Even with the Oklahoma bombing, the healing process started immediately after with the ad of the federal government. In New Orleans, The federal government%u2019s not doing their part to fix the levees, which is prolonging the process for the people on the lower 9th ward to repair their houses and move back in their homes. The insurance companies are doing their part to try and make sure all the poor and underprivileged can%u2019t get what%u2019s needed to clean and rebuild. In other words, as the old folks say. The *** rolls down the hill. If you really want to find the real problem one need to look up higher than Mayor Nagin, meaning the governor on up to the president. You can%u2019t point the finger at one person.

The title should be "Ray Nagin's Naggin'" because that's all he's been doing, and that's all he will be doing.

Side note: Why should we help the people that where trying to shoot down our aircraft, UNARMED aircraft, when we tried to help them? We spent thosands of dallars just starting the aircraft and they try to shoot it down? OUR OWN AMERICAN CITIZENS? Let alone the money we spent on supply drops. I honestly think that we have spent more than plenty of money to start the rebuild of N.O., they atleast should pitch in thier help. Don't get me wrong, I understand things take time.

+ Hurricane season is closing in on them, so I hope they can finish what they started so far.

These "Natives" will be very upset when they stop recieving "freebies" like food and housing from U.S. Government. The people that help rebuild N.O. should be the people that get free housing to live there. I have not heard of many of the "Natives" helping out at all. It is very upsetting to me that my hard earned tax dollars are going to people that aren't even trying to rebuild thier city. I have seen many news reports on this bringing in racisim against caucasians into the gig, and that disturbs me (being one) that they're accusing us for not giving them enough money, buying the land, not giving them time, etc. The city should be built as closely to how it was, yes, but it is fair for others to be able to purchase the land also.

Ernesto seems to be heading into the Gulf and maybe to Louisiana. Is there a better plan in place since Katrina, or will it be the Fed's fault again?

Florida via Louisiana in 89.

If he says that most of the sites that are still damaged (see picture) are on personal property and the City cant do nothing about it, he is full of it. He is the mayor and he can order the people to clean it up, or he could fine them or he will have it bulldozed. Oh wait! That would mean the US Government would have to fork out money to pay for new bulldozers (cause Nagin wont stand for anything less than new for his city) and pay for cleanup crews to come clean the debris. Thus making our taxes go thru the roof AGAIN.

So maybe he's right. Leave the stuff where it is and let it rot. Cause all his citizens got the hell out of NO and are dispersed throughout the rest of America. Where they are getting free housing and free bills from our tax dollars.

And I dont blame them for not returning. Would you want to return to the house behind Nagin in the picture, when you could have a nice 3 bdr 2 ba apartment in Dallas for FREE??????

I live 90 miles north of N.O. in MS and I am not happy with the way N.O. has handled the problem. First of all everyone knows that N.O. is built below sea level and that sooner or later it is going to sink and that the streets of N.O. floods when it rains for 3 hours so it should had been no question that if Katrinia would had hit N.O. that it would had been destroyed. But of course it did not hit there it hit at the La. and MISSISSIPPI border and destroyed the area that the real southerners love. But they are not getting the attention that N.O. is getting because they are not crying like a bunch of cry babies instead they are rolling up there sleeves and are trying to rebuild and get on with life. And as for as that mayor and city council is concern they are all a bunch of crooks. The best Gov. La. had in my time is sitting in jail, yes he was a crook but he was one that knew how to take care of people rather rich or poor, black or white.

I find it so irritating when I read comments from the so called "evacuees" crying about wanting to "go home". Or better yet, crying about wanting SOMEONE ELSE to clean up and fix THEIR city while they sit hundreds of miles away living off FEMA money!! I spent over 4 months in the N.O. area last winter working, both for pay and volunteering. In that time I lived in a house, three different campgrounds (NASTY!!), the Slidell walmart parking lot in the cab of my truck, a Slidell truck stop parking lot, and in a camper in someones front yard in Kenner. All the while we worked EVERY day. So why is it that we traveled from MAINE to do work and live like this yet NATIVES live somewhere else while OTHERS are there rebuilding, putting up with the filth, unappreciative people, gouging by the NATIVES???? Any Natives have an answer?

It is, indeed, refreshing to see most of these posts condemning Nagin. Everyone had wonderful insights but Happilappi..you make me curious. The people of New Orleans should get back there to help, even if they aren't on a paid job. It's their community...help clean it up yourselves.

Please Billary Wannabee " DNC Dunce Dean" What you don't know about; besides politics; You *** Sure won't Learn From The Un-Really Reilly factor!! ("Murfa Muffin")!

What did you expect from Spike Lee? He must have had His Head up His Crack Dealers Rear End in the months and
Years leading up to Katrina!!
The City Was Corrupted and Basically Bankrupt when
Katrina Hit! All the levee Maintenance (second only to Calif.) money had been skimmed to the Gambling industry; (for many years),along with the School Bus Funding! Which is why 90% where inoperable! The former Governer is still in prison, and Blanco and Nagin needed a Cash Cow, "FEMA" to get the City, and most of Rural Louisiana Solvent Again.
Jesse Jackson must have written part of the script, hoping He Too;"(Rainbow Co-Extortionists Inc)"; could Gorge on the rebuilding Monies( Bird nest on the Ground!!)
