- For me the gun resting up against the head says murder. Like the article stated, the recoil would have thrown the gun off the head and just as significan the lady was right handed and would have only shot herself with rt hand so as not to botch the job. The article is also inaccurate or someone lied that tested the gun for prints. A fingerprint is always available on the trigger of a gun and that is also the one place on a gun that someone who wipes the gun "clean" does not wipe the trigger. If there was NO print on the trigger, that weapon was wiped clean. That oversight has cost many predators there freedom. As far as the murderer, my guess is the son and both his mom and dad were part of the coverup. The son also probably annoyed the new wife at his moms behest. Overall the case was handled in this manner by the police dept to close the case as quickly as possible. Probably politics involved.

- Growing up in Washington in a county similar to this one, they don't attract the best law enforcement, detectives,etc.They botched the investigation and everybody looses.

- I don't think this woman committed suicide. Her husband & step son probably conspired to kill her. The ex wife possibly was involved. Rhonda was distraught with her living situation with these two scum bags father & son. This probably contributed to her depression & the credit card purchases were probably a result of anger when she found out her dirt bag husband was sleeping with his ex-wife. The police botched the crime scene making it impossible to say for sure these two were guilty. So sad a beautiful talented woman's life taken away by two disgusting perverts. Like father like scum.ah son. Hopefully, they will be found guilty if not they'll get whats coming to them when they stand before God sent to HELL where they belong....

- My comment was made after reading a long dissertation from the last person samalangar. I also would like to thank Ann Rule for being involved and caring enough to help Ronda's mother. You are both wonderful women! Now you can Rest In Peace Ronda.

- Not once in this whole episode was the word bi-polar ever even mentioned. Your obvious bias against a mental illness has clouded your judgement. I would suggest that you educate yourself on different forms of mental illnesses and then come back and comment. Oh, by the way, there are bi-polar men. Richard Dreyfuss for one and many other creative people.

- After watching 48 hours tonight, I am convinced that Ronda was murdered by her stepson. I believe the sleazy father knows the truth and is covering for his son. If they are so innocent, let them both take lie detector tests to put this to rest one way. It is terribly unfortunate that the local police botched the investigation which allowed the killers to walk free. The angle of the gunshot, the location of the gun, and oh yes....no fingerprints on the gun, all tell one story. How unfortunate that Ronda got involved with this trashy family.. And now to hear they are considering suing her mother and Anne Rule.....seriously? Someday the meth addicted son will run his mouth to the wrong person and father and son will end up behind bars getting what they deserve! Can't wait for that 48 Hours episode!

- My brother and I also watched the 48 Hours Mystery tonight, and it became clear to me that the husband and step-son did not kill Ronda. They are covering for the real killer-- the husband's ex-wife.
The ex-wife was very jealous of Ronda who was educated and very beautiful. The husband is a very immoral man who was sleeping with both women throughout the marriage. He is also a pathological liar and he believes his own lies.
If you look at photos of the ex-wife before her husband remarried and look at photos of her now, you see a very disturbed woman. She is the one who has to live with the guilt of killing Ronda. - Reply to this comment
