- This whole thing sickens me. People are right...Polygamy is not about religion but on the practices of sexual abuse to children. By saying it is their religion in their mind they are putting their "okay stamp" on the actions they do to this children.
For the family who also aired but say the do not follow the Polygamy the way the FLDS does, you sicken me as well. You are teaching your children it is okay for the man to have multiple partners, that is not okay.
I hope the FLDS parents loose their children. These children need to realize the pain and sexual abuse these adults are putting on their children. But then again, I think the parents are so good at brainwashing that the children would not listen to anyone but the FLDS leaders.
Its a cult, its brainwashing and its not right! - Reply to this comment
- What are these churches, mosques, ainagogues, we don`t have such a thing

- Everyone remember that the FLDS is not registered as a Church. It is strictly a business. It''s main product is underage brides. It''s main service is prostitution cloaked loosely in the term marriage. Non of the so called FLDS "marriages" are filed in any state of the Union, making them false. Not one of them has a marriage license.

- FLDS LDS. They are both fruit that fell from the same rotten tree of Joseph Smith and his teachings. Both are polygamists. The only difference is one currently practices it, and one believes they will practice it in the next life. Don''t let LDS people tell you otherwise. That is their doctrine no matter hard they try and distance themselves from the FLDS people.

- None of these people belonging to the FLDS are contributing members of society. Yet everyone of them reap the benefits of the very society they distrust and disdain. They are the leaches, the lowest of scum, the very low life of society; less worthy than the bums sleeping in cardboard boxes because they refuse education and insist on living in a world of paranoia and superstition at the tax payers expense. And they play the welfare system very well, for all the pennies they can

- Lets see because it is called a religon these people can rape there kids, let there brothers rape there kids, have multiple wifes, the mothers can sit back and play stupid to it all. Spread there legs to the same man who slops in them all and because it is a religon they are all above the laws of the US. At least Texas had the guts to try and do something about the pedophile FLDS freeks !!!!!!!

- I was the producer on some of the Valerie/Vickey footage that was in this piece. I can tell you that they are both very decent and lovely people; and their kids are gorgeous and incredibly well-behaved. Their husband is also a very decent, hard working man. I think what''s happening in Utah re: de-criminalization is a real shame. I personally have no problem w/Polygamy per se; and Valerie and her sister are excellent examples of why. HOWEVER, the fact that the state continues to keep their lifestyle illegal hurts in more ways than people appreciate. If their husband is fired from his job b/c his boss doesn''t like his lifestyle, he has NO recourse. His lifestyle is illegal, therefore he is free to be discriminated against; and that''s not right and AG Shurtleff needs to address this in a meaningful way.
That said, what''s happening in the FLDS is a crime; reps like Willie Jessop can say all they want about there being no abuse; I know better. I''m very concerned about the events to come down there in Colorado City; something has to be done, and soon. - Reply to this comment

- Any way you slice it...it''s just plain wrong....and just like any other criminal....they will continue to justify their behavior and blame others.
Can''t they just buy an island somewhere and move there!?
or wait for the day when they are ....INDICTED!?

- Could that fall under the uneducated part?
about not following the law?
So i guess you could still say even the "new day" polygs are brainwashed and uneducated!!
GREAT!!! Just keep passing it on ladies!! - Reply to this comment
- hmmmm, guess I didn''t hear that part... Anyway, I''m with most people that think this is wrong. The thing that bugs me about the "Modern" polygamist''s is that they keep saying they want to be treated normally and not looked down upon, etc... Well, start obeying the law then! Other criminals get looked down upon as well! Stop breaking the law or face the consequences. You can''t have it both ways. There are plenty of laws that people think are rediculous, but that doesn''t give them the right to break them. Start being a responsible adult and live the law of the land.

- You know what is even more demented though, is that they twist everything to fit their lifestyles.
They say...""It%u2019s just the way that Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob lived in the Bible," Christine says."
God''s law also states to follow mans law!!
If man makes polygamy illegal...then it is illegal!
Do these women think they are doing justice by teaching their children to not follow the law?
Follow the Bible instead?
The Bible also says "an eye for an eye".......! - Reply to this comment

When did it say that they were "teased at school by the local mormon kids"? I saw it said they were teased, but not specifically by mormon kids... Are you just assuming that? If so, stop making assumptions about people you don''t know. - Reply to this comment

- Sadly though, they do make it about religion and church and keeping them uneducated.....i watched that special last night and was upset that those woman from the "new day" polyg family outside of Salt Lake, kept making it about multiple wives thing and not about the underage girls. people don''t know much about the families all over the place that live polyg lifestyles, there are hundreds here in Utah...no one cares about them cuz they do their own thing and let their children grow up "normal".
it''s the traditional ones that get all the attention, as they should, because they are nothing but predators!
Sick disgusting predators!
Sadly, utah doesn''t care about them either cuz most people in the ranks have ties to the traditional polygs.
Brain washed and educated is right. - Reply to this comment
- I''ve got more than enough with one woman let alone two or three of ''em. Just one getting her hands on my credit card is quite enough.
