- I am not trying to criticize the RPD for the way they handled things, but in all fairness, how can you do a thorough investigation when you have your mind set who did it? Its just obvious to me that the evidence didnt matter(cellphone) because of that attitude, thats the only criticism I have.

first of all,
this girl wasn''t such a sweetie, if she was sleeping around with lots of other guys....poor kevin
How could kevin be covered in blood when he drove to the apt with his buddy and his mom, he didn''t have blood on him then, there was no blood in the car. So, he got covered in blood when he was trying to revive Nona......
Why would the condom have his prints on it, the other guy used it...but when, there supposedly was no sign of sexual intercourse. per the police.....
the condom could have been there for awhile
the mom was calling the police, what was the friend doing , I wonder.......
Did anyone csi Nona''s car to see, if any dna or blood showed up there....maybe she had *** in the car earlier and brought the condom in and put it down.....
then she showered and forgot about it.
there are so many unanswered questions...people are not stupid anymore, there are too many tv shows to help with the clues.
this boy is innocent. completely and totally, someone else Nona cheated on, found her in the car, followed her into the house and killed her, after he saw her having *** ........the condom could just be to throw people off
A girl doesn''t sleep around and not get caught, one way or the other.

- I agree with you - Nona had so many plans to make this world a better place, she was a very talented, gifted young woman and it saddens me beyond words that someone took her life, and knowing that person could go unpunished makes it more difficult for everyone. You are right, it will surface one day who did this. I hope its soon.

- We can debate for eternity. It doesn''t change the fact that poor Nona had her life cut short. Who knows what she would have done? She was coming out of her shell( it seems) growing and becoming more determined and confident. Kevin has gone to trial and been deemed "Not guilty" so he will not have to face another trial. He has begun a new life in Ft. Smith ( I hear). He is the one that will have to live with what he has done, or not done. If he did it, we will hear about him again. If he didn''t do it, maybe not. People can critcize RPD, but when you are looking for evidence-you get all you can initially, because it is usually a "one shot" deal. It was hard for them, considering someone who tells you they watch "Law and Order" and they know about this stuff-has just contaminated and compromised your crime scene 7 ways from Sunday. When you are collecting evidence, you don''t know who it belongs to until it is processed. The cops messed up is an easy cop-out. This is why so many people feel Kevin hasn''t been exactly honest. It is human nature.

- Sass71ATU, maybe he really was that distraught that he didn''t want to believe she was gone...

- I have to say that I believe Kevin is innocent
The only evidence they have is a bloody palm print on a light bulb. If Kevin was there and had done the deed, the first inclination would be to make sure you didn''t leave any evidence behind. So he had the forethought of wiping his prints off of the murder weapon, but didn''t think to take the light bulb?
I would also be hitting the walls or chair if I had just lost my girlfriend. That doesn''t prove anything. The investigating office should be fired for the abusive questioning of this young man.
Also, if you know much about psychology, Kevin was Nona''s savior and even though she was unfaithful to him, she would never have left him. In my mind, the person that is guilty is the person who had sexual relations with her and then found out that he was just a one-night stand. He obviously didn''t want anyone else to be able to have her.
Also, even if Kevin had found the condom, he would not have become angry with Nona as he knew about the sexual abuse from her biological father. Everyone knows that it messes with a girl''s head - they tend to think of approval in terms of ***. He would have been concerned about her and would have wanted to protect her from the sexual predators out there. If it were me, I would never be angry with Nona, I would have wanted to find that jerk who had taken advantage of Nona''s fragile condition.
I sure hope that the DNA that was found on the condom brings out the true killer. - Reply to this comment
- Good points ino12, but he did text her the next morning.. why? I do know of the tempers yes - I wonder if any of the ex-lovers had one, it would be interesting to know that fact. The fact that more lie detector tests werent done bothers me. The fact that her phone was erased bothers me - maybe Kevin did call but the calls didnt go through - my cell does that a lot especially north of Dover. That doesnt mean he didnt try to call her and that he is lying. So, one of the ex-lovers packing without witnesses, dropping off a movie a Hastings with no witnesses is an alibi? That''s a little too easy isnt it? Kevin has an alibi unless you don''t believe Grandma Jones? As far as his dad throwing the chair -I probably would have too. Part of the interrogation made me cringe and I can''t imagine how terrified he was. Any parent would have stopped it and gotten an attorney. Most people are good, and this family had no idea how serious this became so quickly. I honestly believe that. I doubt Kevin knew what he would be dealing with when he opened that glass door either. I don''t think anyone was being rational. Who could be rational after the horror of that? Honestly, as I said, I am open minded, but the stats and "majority" bugs me - no offense. That''s dangerous to think that way. I never knew he hit her - when was that?

- I don''t carry a purse, but they are always in my pocket...but I realize guys may do things differently.....also, on text messages, it was reported before Kevin went to trial that earlier in the day after Nona was said to have been killed but hours before he found her body that he sent her a text that said "R U ALIVE?" I have always found that odd.

- I''ve noticed that I always have my keys with me too Sass71ATU, that''s because I carry a purse. My boyfriend, who obivously does not carry a purse, never has keys with him because he hates carrying them in his pocket. Dunno if you ever thought of that...
