- If anything, the high rollers should do the patriotic thing and give up their bonus to keep people employed in America.
After all, is that not the Christian thing to do?

lollll...I haven''t got to say this in a while, so thanks for the opportunity!
The people behind and among the leading Republicans let nothing - not religion, not ethics, not morality, not even patriotism, come between themselves and wealth accumulation.
They never got the chance, but they had intended to whack estate taxes too - thus enabling them to stop even death from coming between themselves and their wealth. - Reply to this comment
- Well. All I am going to say is trickle down economics has not worked and it never will.
The problem is when the wealthy have most of the money and the rest of us have debt, spending decreases rapidly. The demand for goods and services go down, the economy contracts and wealthy make less money.
If anything, the high rollers should do the patriotic thing and give up their bonus to keep people employed in America.
After all, is that not the Christian thing to do? - Reply to this comment

- Its the Governments fault they told us everything was going to hell in a hand basket. Now everybody is cutting back and saving. Perhaps they shouldn''t have told us it was so bad. But then we wouldn''t have let them give their buddies a trillion dollars.

- lets put the "Bushville" tent cities on the Bush front lawns.

Now there is another reason I am glad Bush will be gone if it does get really bad.
Because you KNOW Bush would pull a Hoover and send in the Army to bust up any tent cities - and the people in them - that should show up in D.C. - Reply to this comment

I agree. Job creation is the most important thing money can be put into. The banks have already given their outrageous bonuses and hoarded cash from the bailout and credit is still sluggish if not frozen. - Reply to this comment

- We will need something like a "Simon Wiesental Center" to find our money...

The question is, will it be worth finding? Or will it only be suitable for use as T/P or to set your furniture on fire for warmth? - Reply to this comment

I wouldn''t be so sure about safe boxes and money not coming back. We are going to close Gitmo, making available a lot of trained torturers to other branches of government (say, the IRS or the DOJ).
If i were Bush, Cheney or one of the beneficiaries of the last eight years i would be out of the country by now (like Halliburton, if you hadn''t noticed). We will need something like a "Simon Wiesental Center" to find our money... - Reply to this comment
- I''ve had some interesting discussions with friends and Family about things going on that are not being reported in the MSM...(big surprise)....State Welfare workers are being told to shuffle people around and even hang up on them when they are attempting to file new claims for Food Stamps and other needed entitlements for which they qualify, simply because the States are running on empty. According to one insider, they put off people using these and other tactics till the "Time" requirements lapse and then they must start the process all over again, no matter how close they got to being granted access.
This is going on in multiple states and every indication is that things are going to get nasty very quickly. Some shelters are being overrun with people being evicted from their homes, people who have NEVER known unemployment or economic hardship. Professionals who have always lived in a nice home, with 2 cars, and every nicety available, excellent credit histories, etc., who now can''t find a job anywhere and are losing everything.
I predict at this rate unless something drastic happens to offset this slide, we will see armed gun battles in the streets of every major city, and complete breakdown of social adhesion at every level.

- Interesting - you claim the right to dictate the context and meaning of the words of others?

Dictate? Because I have an opinion that is different for yours, I''''m dictating?

Now that is curious...you are upset, yet felt no compunction against refusing me the right to view the forced changeover to DTV as taxation without representation? - Reply to this comment

- Given the context, (that of advocating the "execution" of anyone associated with the federal government) I don''''t think your distinction applies.

- Oh I see. You think I''''''''m "wacko" for pointing out that b4ucmyI was instigating assassinations of federal employees.

In this country, ''''tis the State the performs executions.
Anybody else kills, it is either justifiable homicide or murder.
Posted by ibsteve2u at 05:59 PM : Jan 14, 2009
Do you really think law enforcement or the legal system would care about your interpretation? Maybe by "executed" he simple means that he himself has passed judgement. Given the context, (that of advocating the "execution" of anyone associated with the federal government) I don''t think your distinction applies. - Reply to this comment
- Needs to be a tall or broad one, mind you, maybe something like the Vietnam War Memorial (it boggles the mind: we are now deeper in the toilet then when that war ended!)...

- The people behind GWB are geniuses. Has any president EVER handed such a situation to his successor? You couldn''t make this up, it''s a perfect storm. This one has to have been planed for a long, long time. Hey, Republicans, why do you hate this country so much?
And i''m absolutely positive that every time in the future President Obama mentions what was handed to him and why that impedes his effords all hell will break lose from the right side of the political spectrum.
So, i propose a monument for George W. Bush listing - for eternity - all the things he and his henchmen did to destroy our country. Needs to be a tall or broad one, mind you, maybe something like the Vietnam War Memorial (it boggles the mind: we are now deeper in the toilet then when that war ended!)... - Reply to this comment

Are you sure you aren''t a Republican?
That is what they do: Make something up, and repeat it over and over again in the belief - too true, too often - that repetition will make it become accepted as truth. - Reply to this comment
- enviro_wacko.............it funnnels to our politicians, and the rest of the population. so as long as our society is in decay, no matter who we elect they would do the same. 95% of the people complaining about the greed would do the same thing.....extreme self interest.
