I am for Missile defense around the US. The country is already bankrupt because of Iraq, if the Europeans are afraid of Russia, lets give them a 25% discount on the cost and see if they will still want the missile defense sheild. After installation we have to maintain the shield. AMERICA FIRST.

The United States has accomplished the building of lots and lots of fully functional nukes, and we have every confidence that they work first time, every time.

That does not in turn imply that the wise strategic decision is to ring Russia, China, or the Middle East with them.

Obering needs to explain what the United States stands to gain that offsets the real risks and losses we will incur for deploying them in areas that antagonize Russia.

If he cannot do that, then Obering should stick to playing with his toys, and leave global strategy to the big boys.

"Star Wars", or whatever the new slick name for the missle defense system is a complete sham and a total waste of money, lots of money. All supposed "real world" tests have failed, the only tests of any kind that have worked are where the system is rigged so much as to be laughably biased.

Conservatives will have to accept the fact that just because this sinkhole of money program began under doddering Ronnie Ray Gun doesn''t make it a worthwhile investment, doesn''t make US citizens any safer, and actually reduces our security since the Russians want to deploy more missiles to counteract this "shield", which is anything but a shield in reality.
