"A member of China''s Politburo asked for the last-minute change to match one girl''s face with another''s voice"

Shame on CBSnews, you are a rumor maker now! Do your reporter understand Chinese? Did anybody tell you that is a "member of poliburo" want to change the singer? No.That is the director of the ceremony wants to change the girl. Does Freedom of speech equal to Freedom of making rumor? Both the news itself and the ways how CBS reports the news give us a lesson. Please don''t lie!

I wish Bush would do some lip syncing, maybe he would say something intelligent.

What else can you expect from the Chinese. They''''re a bunch of losers. Posted by pirmin3"

It is interesting that these losers have taken all our jobs and all our money, and we let them do it the entire time while they professed their hatred of the USA. Who are the real losers?

We Americans are the losers, the stupid nation that let a communist nation take our economy from us with our blessings.

You may fly the American flag and chant over and over, "We are the greatest nation in the world" and makes you feel better. Sorry to say its not working for me.

At the 2002 Opening Ceremonies of the winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, the entire Mormon Tabernacle Choir lip synced. Their songs had been pre-recorded for broadcast since their performance was outside in the cold night air. They recording sounded great and you wouldn''t have known they weren''t really singing that night.

Communist China is all about the means justifying the ends. They''re cheaters, phonies and frauds: faked fireworks, government sanctioned and doctored passports for their underaged girl gymnasts, lip-synching kid, forcing our athletes to apologize for wearing face masks, denial of Cheeks'' visa, arresting peaceful US demonstrators and then deporting them, improper and lax protection of tourists at major sites resulting in murder, blocking of some western websites to the press, etc. And these are just for the Olympics, let''s add to that using lead in toys, poisoning pet food, tainting pharmaceuticals, etc. And yes, we may have celebrites that use body doubles, but then we''re usually aware of it and can come to our own conclusions, but it''s not white-washed just for the mother land. The Communist Chinese are evil.

Just proves again that in China, it''''s all about
perception. Reality is disguised. Thus, the true
picture is hidden. I''''m sure China wouldn''''t fake the
passports or birth certificates of their gymnastics
team either! LOL

Shame on China. You should be prouder of who you
really are, not what you want people to believe you are.

Uh, where are you from? "People who live in glass houses should not throw stones." There is no place in the world more concerned about appearance then the USA (and the people who live there). Cudos to China for putting on a great show and a great Olympics. The Chinese athletes have performed very well, and the Chinese people should be proud of the athletes and these games.

Lip-synching is one thing, when it''s the actual artist up there doing the lip-synching, but to tell a child who actually has that beautiful voice "you aren''t cute enough" basically "you''re too ugly to be on stage" is just HORRIBLE!!!

Is that really the image you want to put out to the world China? The image that you don''t really CARE about your people, that you just want to LOOK perfect?

Actually, the "footprint" fireworks were real. I mean, there were indeed footprint fireworks. It''s just that what''s shown on TV was not the real fireworks, as it was difficult to actually shoot the real firworks in real time from the air. So it was not entirely faking. The girl''s singing was indeed miming. But I heard that in American superbowls etc, they do miming as well. Is that true?

Anyway, I was surprised that China authority disclosed these things voluntarily and bravely.
