- It''s odd, but for his first 3 years he''d never touch anything I left, even steaks. Then he discovered he loves bread and will snatch the bread off from my sandwich and leave the rest. The female never takes anything, but me wrapped around her paw and always gets food when she begs.

- Well then, that makes my cat better than your dogs, because she won''''t touch mine.:) Not doin'''' a very good job with training, are ya?

My latest was a black lab puppy. Although smart, easy to train, and well behaved, her curiosity and need to chew was relentless. Great companion and endless unconditional love. I would definitely do it again.
Speaking of training, of all the dogs I''ve owned, she was the only one I was able to teach how to sneeze on command. Big wet snotty sneezes. Amazing what they''ll do for a treat. - Reply to this comment

My cat likes to poo over the side of the cat tower.

Hmmmm, that''s not good. Sounds like you aren''t doing a very good job of training either. - Reply to this comment
- The New York Post said Lekic put Trouble''s (Helmsley dog) annual cost at $190,000. That figure includes Lekic''s $60,000 guardian fee, $100,000 for security, $8,000 for grooming, $3,000 for miscellaneous expenses, $1,200 for food and 2,500 to $18,000 for medical care.
At Least two people out there (Gardian and Security)are making an upper middle class income watching a dog. - Reply to this comment

They did. It''s tied up in a $10 trillion national debt and a $3 trillion war in Iraq. Its just that half of us haven''t gotten the bill yet, apparently. - Reply to this comment
- I agree, it was her money and she should be able to do what she wishes with it.
I know that when I pass away, half of my money will go for the care of my dogs. They have been there for me when I was all alone... and if I want to leave money for them to be taken care of it is my business.
If I had her money, I am sure I would leave alot of it to dog rescues. I volunteer for one now and it''s sad when you see them come in from puppy mills, scared to death, and how much they respond to human contact. They don''t care who you are or what you have, as long as you can give them love. - Reply to this comment
- Posted by SgtRDS-E4 - I disagree. My dogs are more valuable to me then strangers are. To each their own though.

So true. I come home to my dog each day - He is ALWAYS happy to see me. He never lies to me, he does''t steal from me - he is perfectly happy to just love me. How many people do you know like that? - Reply to this comment
- It''''s perfectly reasonable for the state to decide what to do her estate.

No, it''s not. The money was hers at the time she wrote the will. The state has no right to it at all and that''s the law. Otherwise the state could seize the assets of any rich or poor family when the controller of the family money dies. By your theory the state should be able to take your home from your family after you die if they decided they didn''t like who you left it too. That''s not how it works in America or any free country. - Reply to this comment

- The life of humans, strangers or not, are way more valuable than our four legged friends.

- Besides, I know my dogs and I know they''''re worth saving. I don''''t know the stranger, so I don''''t know if they''''re as valuable to me as my dogs are.

Dude, I love my dogs, but in no way would I choose a dog or any animal before the life of a human. My dog can''t give me o+ blood or fix me chicken noodle soup when I''m sick. The life of humans, strangers or not, are way more valuable than our four legged friends. - Reply to this comment
- BTW, you''''d want a human at your side during a fire fight right? Sargent...

Not necessarily. If we''re taking a well trained combat dog then I''d be fine with that. Still that has nothing at all to do with anything I said. - Reply to this comment

Life has made you bitter.Life also made Leona bitter. Sad.

Nothing bitter about it at all. I love my dogs. I have no relationship with the stranger, so it''d be much more natural for me to save my dog over a stranger. How you get "bitter" out of that is beyond me or anyone else. - Reply to this comment
