A "marriage" is a religious institution, not a civilian one. A religious leader would be more able to rewrite what a "marriage" defines than a politician.

In that case how can athiests get married?

Like I did - at the justice of the peace, on the steps of town hall.

Apparently the neo cons forget this avenue.

In November the queer marriage issue is on the ballot in California. It couldnt work more to the disadvantage of lib extremists.

Almost half of the couples with children in the U.S. are not married.

Why aren''''t the rabid neocons after them?

A "civil union" is defined by governments, therefore politicians have the ability to define this. Just like civil rights.

There is a difference and people, on both sides of the matter, feel free to mix up the words as if there is no difference. There is.

I wish more people with stick to the proper terminology and aim their thoughts at the proper targets.

You two are really out of your minds! babykiller, why don''''t you tell your parents what you posted here, that marriage means nothing and I hope they slap the *** out of you, they created you, I bet they regret that! As far as religion goes, why don''''t you both let people believe what they want to and you believe what you want to, just remember, don''''t believe everything you think! If Degenetiles was a real women, she would marry a real man and have real children, but she isn''''t and you moron neolibs call her a hero, what has this country gone to, moronic libs.

So what if homosexuals want to get married? To those that hate the idea...just how exactly will it harm you if two men or two women get married to each other?

As far as the arguement that it is wrong in God''s eyes...that is an opinion...not a fact.

To those that say that marriage is for the creation of children. Hmmm...the world is already overpopulated. In that case maybe all marriages should be banned until the population is under control.

There is not one logical argument against gay marriage. The religious argument is nonsense, of course, because any argument from a religious viewpoint must be, since religion is nonsense. The argument that gay marriage will somehow affect straight people is complete gibberish, as well, and I''''ve yet to see it articulated in any way that makes any sense at all. Of course, marriage itself is an obsolete, meaningless institution that serves not one useful function, but that''''s the Conservative clock-stopping mindset: let''''s preserve pointless rituals and attituides and prevent any real progress from occurring in this country.

If we say yes to same-*** marriage, then, there''s no philosophical basis for saying no to any other type of marriage arrangement. Thankfully, the Supreme Court has a conservative majority that sees that and won''t let this nonsense go on for much longer. In the end, the liberal''s refusal to see that is beyond nonsensical!

Barack Obama will not win in the GENERAL ELECTION. There is no way. The white vote was fixed for John McCain to get in to initiate additional invasions, such as: IRAN, CUBA, and other "HOT SPOTS", that will annihilate the UNITED STATES! What will be left, in their minds, is the "EUROPEAN UNION"!

Posted by jfk667 at 05:03 PM : May 22, 2008

"annihilate the US"?

Do you really think they''re going to swim their camels across the ocean, and attack us?

Or do you think their ALL POWERFUL navies, with the latest technologically advanced SAILS AND OARS, are coming to launch rocks from their catapults at our shores?

Moron.

Republicans are the worst Americans.

Looking back at the last 7 years of the Bush Administration, Republican scandals, both s.e.x. and outright corruption, outing CIA agents, illegal wiretaps, torture, the 2006 election to end the Iraq War which resulted in a surge of 30,000 additional troops!(take that voters!), over 4000 U.S. dead in Iraq, a national debt over $9 trillion, a deficit budget submitted for over $239 billion, $3.50 gas prices at the pump, 80,000 jobs lost in march, Mortgage sub prime crisis, Bank failures, multiple tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan, fighting the wrong war on terror in the wrong nation, Osama bin Laden still loose making audio and video! and on and on folks, and so how can Sen. Obama or almost anyone else be worst than this disaster performance of the Bush Administration the last 7 years and its not over yet!!

Democrats win in 08...there is no debate....
