While I understand people either agree or disagree with the ''bailout'' package, I do think that spiraling foreclosures and plummeting valuations hurt us all. It continues to reduce our property values and invites more crime.

So, regardless on who agrees IF the bailout should occur, and secondly, WHO deserves this benefit, I do think given that Mr. Bush has ruined our economy (unsubstantiated war) along with greedy buyers and loan-shark type lending has caused this mess in the first place, its for the betterment of society in general to put SOMETHING, SOMEHOW in place to curb this downturn.

I understand many of the disagreements. People who should be ''bailed out'' are the ones with a documentable job loss, like a layoff, or medical bills, not the greedy ''keep up with the Joneses'' types who got loans from their greedy banks.

Speculators should NOT be rewarded. Anyone receiving any type of benefit on this plan should have to prove residency. Rented properties and second homes should not be bailed out.

I found out the day before returning from unpaid maternity leave that I had no job to return to. I had a full time job and another part time job with 2 different state agencies. I bought my house in the mid-90s for 89k. Its now worth around 250k. With 15 years of equity built up, I would have hated to think I might have to blow through my savings to keep a roof over our heads.

I was one of the lucky ones. I found a great position with great benefits within 2 weeks. It was scary though.

This illustrates why uneducated America blames Congress for its problems. Every time the House tries to do something, it is stifled by that Prick in the White House and his Nazi henchmen in the GOP.

Bad logic Rudy. Your speaking like the little child whose brother or sister got more candy than them at the store with daddy''s money.

All the "bailouts" need to stop, including all these tax refund bailouts. End of story.

The more bailouts with newly printed funny-money, the further our currency goes down the toilet.

And last time I checked nobody took anyone to the cleaners in the real estate market. Stupid Joe Sixpack homeowner got just as greedy as the stupid bankers who lent him the money to super-size into his new McMansion that him and his bank knew he couldn''t afford.

Nobody walked up and held a gun to his head and said "buy this house or I''m gonna kill you", now did they Rudy.

No comprendo chico. If they are STUPID homeowners, what is it to be the mafioso who took them for every dime they had? Yet, you agree with Bush that the people who suffer the most don''t matter? Yeah, you mentioned the banks sucking it up. So? They have not had to suck anything up because Bush has made sure they are well taken care of. Comprende?
