Christianity by comparison has a long history of violence, bloodshed, murder of innocent non-believers (or adherents of other religions and beliefs)
Some selected highlights from it''s history;

Followers of Peter Waldo of Lyon, called Waldensians, also suffered the wrath of official Christendom. They promoted the role of lay street preachers despite official policy that only ordained ministers be allowed to preach. They rejecting things like oaths, war, relics, veneration of saints, indulgences, purgatory, and a great deal more which was promoted by religious leaders. The church needed to control the sort of information which the people heard, lest they be corrupted by the temptation to think for themselves. They were declared heretics at the Council of Verona in 1184 and then hounded and killed over the course of the following 500 years. In 1487, Pope Innocent VIII called for an armed crusade against populations of Waldensians in France. Some of them still apparently survive in the Alps and Piedmont.

What is Paganism?

Paganism is a spiritual way of life which has its roots in the ancient nature religions of the world. It is principally rooted in the old religions of Europe, though some adherents also find great worth in the indigenous beliefs of other countries. Such belief in the sacredness of all things can be found world-wide. Pagans see this as their heritage, and retain the beliefs and values of their ancestors in forms adapted to suit modern life. We celebrate the sanctity of Nature, revering the Divine in all things; the vast, unknowable spirit that runs through the universe, both seen and unseen.

Pagans honour the Divine in all its aspects, whether male or female, as parts of the sacred whole. Every man and woman is, to a Pagan, a beautiful and unique being. Children are loved and honoured and there is a strong sense of community. The woods and open spaces of the land, home to wild animals and birds, are cherished. Paganism stresses personal spiritual experience, and Pagans often find that experience through their relationship with the natural world that they love. We seek spiritual union with Divinity by attuning with the tides of Nature and by exploring our inner selves, seeing each reflected in the other. We believe that we should meet the Divine face to face, within our own experience, rather than through an intermediary.

pagan v/s christian

As can be seen, the dramatic difference between the CHRISTIAN history of violence, bloodshed, death, subversion, jailings, burning at the stake, torture, protecting pedo priests, encouraging slavery and paganism with its beliefs.
Notice paganism has no hypocritical god waiting to swoop down and send you to eternal torture for minor infractions, demanding you kill animals for ''''sin'''' offerings, to save you from himself or threaten you into ''''belief'''' and ''''obedience''''

"Thou shalt STONE TO DEATH the adulterer"
"Their BLOOD shall be upon them"
"Kill the bullock, sprinkle its blood about the altar and on your clothes, then burn the flesh for a SIN offering to the lord"

v/s

"Pagans honour the Divine in all its aspects, whether male or female, as parts of the sacred whole.

These are important distinctions between the two, one has a documented HISTORY of violence and a book promoting it, the other doesnt.

The prophecies as written in the old testament have NOT been fulfilled
posted by down ndirty

-Not all of them, no, but the Messianic prophecies (400 of them or so) have indeed been fulfilled.

The return of the Jews to their land of Israel is another Old Testament prophecy that has been fulfilled as well (1948 Israel became a nation again):

You know down Ndirty, a while back I challenged this clown to provide the ORIGINAL unadulterated text, say from a copy of the Gutenberg buybull backing up that Israel claim he makes, that his book of death filled some prophesy about Israel and the year *1948* and he hemmed and hawed and never provided the text, yet still insisted it claims 1948.

So you go back in history, its hardly ANY stretch of imagination to figure out that someday a group of displaced people on a planet this big, with as few people as there were back then, would EVENTUALLY settle or resettle a homeland, just as predicting there will be a world war- its inevitable, the trick is PROVING it valid by stating an actual YEAR, not some open-ended interpreted BS like: "the third sun of the fourth moon passes virgo after the fire in the sky crosses the emperor of the north" but *1948*

He cant provide it because the book does not state any such timeframe, its WAY too open ended and vague.

Phuxyou 66:6:

66. jebesus answered, "I am the worst way and the fake and the death of people. No one comes to the Father except me.

considering that all we know about him was written by other people.

Posted by down-ndirty

Not only that but well after he was dead , and curiously they can claim they know EXACTLY what he said down the exact words used, but they cant tell you when his actual BIRTHDAY or even birth year was! best they can do is narrow it down to about a 4 YEAR range lol

In addition, the concept of a god impregnating a human being is a pagan concept and is rejected by Judaism.
"

That would also be classified as bestiality!

The bloodline of David is referring to the Mary and Joseph being Jesus'''' EARTHLY parents because God chose Mary to conceive Him of the Holy Spirit.

Sounds like something made up to cover the inconsistencies in the bible. It doesn''t make sense, and it doesn''t satisfy the Jewish requirement for David''s bloodline, but it''s good symbology. The Jews will never accept Jesus as the messiah for many reasons. Their messiah will be a human being not a supernatural being. In addition, the concept of a god impregnating a human being is a pagan concept and is rejected by Judaism.

It''s very conceited to think that a religion as old as Judaism is going to change because a few christians believe that christ is the messiah and will make another appearance to save the world. And that''s all it is--a belief. There''s no tangible proof that it can or will happen, just words in a book.

However, it''s not something I''m waiting for nor does it affect my life one way or another. I don''t need some "supernatural overseer" to keep me moral. Morality is an inherent part of our evolution, and religion, christianity or otherwise, does not have a monopoly on it.

They will use this same kind of response to the Lord at the Great White Throne Judgement. It is the same way Satan accuses us before God day and night. That is why Jesus Christ is our "Advocate" in that he stepped down and paid the price of sin that we deserve.....Revelation 21:7--- He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.----- 1 John 5:5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?

Saul Alinski devised and proved thirteen tactical rules for use against opponents vastly superior in power and wealth ...
"Power is not only what you have but what the enemy thinks you have.

Never go outside the experience of your people.

Wherever possible go outside of the experience of the enemy.

Make the enemy live up to their own book of rules.

Ridicule is man''s most potent weapon.

A good tactic is one that your people enjoy.

A tactic that drags on too long becomes a drag.

Keep the pressure on.

The threat is usually more terrifying than the thing itself.

Major premise for tactics is development of operations that will maintain constant pressure upon the opposition.

If you push a negative hard and deep enough it will break through into its counterside.

The price of a successful attack is a constructive alternative.

Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.

The real action is in the enemy''s reaction. The enemy properly goaded and guided in his reaction will be your major strength. Tactics, like life, require that you move with the action."

Alinski was hated and defamed by powerful enemies, proof that his tactics worked. His simple formula for success ...

Yeah, but Arnold was VERY talented and had many human-like qualities that many humans don''t have. Perhaps the messiah will be a talented pig.

What would you think if you stumbled upon a primitive culture that believed:

- In the time of the ancestors, a man was born to a virgin mother with no biological father being involved.

- The same fatherless man called out to a friend called Lazarus, who had been dead long enough to stink, and Lazarus prompltly came back to life.

- The fatherless man himself came alive after being dead and buried three days.

- Forty days later, the fatherless man went up to the top of a hill and then disappeared bodily into the sky.

- If you murmur thoughts privately in your head, the fatherless man, and his ''father'' (who is also himself) will hear your thoughts and may act upon them. He is simultaneously able to hear the thoughts of everybody else in the world.

- If you do something bad, or something good, the same fatherless man sees all, even if nobody else does. You may be rewarded or punished accordingly, including after your death.

- The fatherless man''s virgin mother never died but was ''assumed'' bodily into heaven.

- Bread and wine, if blessed by a priest (who must have testicles),''become'' the body and blood of the fatherless man.

The bible is great literature with some vivid symbology, but shold not to be taken literally.

Judaism says that the Messiah will be born of human parents, and possess normal physical attributes like other people. He will not be a demi-god, and will not possess supernatural qualities. In fact, an individual is alive in every generation with the capacity to step into the role of the Messiah. (see Maimonides - Laws of Kings 11:3)

So, who do you believe? The well-established several millenium tested Judaism or the "up-start" new religions that change every few hundred years?

libagenda, you also evaded my question about Christ being a descendant of King David.

What about that? If He was a virgin child, how is he a descendant of David?

Seems to be an inconsistency there.

libagenda, what about the Jewish belief that God gave them the secular for their pleasure and the christian belief that the secular world is evil?

And if it is an evil world why can''t the messiah fulfill the prophicies and usher in an era of world peace and end all hatred, oppression, suffering and disease?

Don''t bother to tell me about the "second coming." The messiah is supposed to fulfill the prophicies outright and there is no concept of a second coming, except in your "re-made" bible.

If you are a true christian why would you make a mockery of liberals with your login name? Are you so naive to think that only conservatives are christians or have accepted Christ?
