Why is Wesley Snipes getting a tougher sentence than any of the Enron thieves?

Why does Snipes owe more taxes then the VP''s buddies, at Halliburton and Bechtel, who got to walk away with the US Treasury via the sweetest gov''t contracts in history?

The answer: Because Snipes forgot to make the necessary campaign contributions!

He also forgot to "move" his corporation to a nice Middle Eastern nation where the IRS would leave his earnings alone.

Instead of making his money honestly in Hollywood, he should have buddied up with the corrupt administration, which has legalized stealing and handed over the US Treasury to their closest friends.

Let''s just wait and see how much Cheney is going to get paid off after he''s finished off by completely distroying the US economy - for the benefit of his privelged posse. And then see how much he ever pays back in taxes.

But, we won''t see any of that on the front pages, will we?

"he hid money, sent it to fake names, told others not to file, claimed to be from another country - this was no little accident, no poor guy who can''t afford to - this was someone wealthy trying to avoid paying his fair share."

Sounds just like most corporations!

If I made the kind of money Wesley makes I sure wouldn''t be worried about paying taxes.

Well .. I must commend Snipes for falling on his sword ... for me and my fellow Americans ..

He gallantly tried to circumvent the IRS even though he made MILLIONS .. and now he will have to be in a real prison .. well kinda anyway.

If he were just a common American and not an "ARTIST" he may well have understood that jackels and tax dodgers really live and come after the affluent .. and ignorant artists ... and maybe woody and him can smoke a big fatty when he gets out .. he better wait to see where he has to serve though .. some states do not take lightly the ghanja ...

THANKS FOR YOUR EFFORT BLADE ..

YOU IGNORANT FOOL !!

HAHAHAHA

If we did not recieve any benefits from paying taxes, then boycott them... but I belive we get a tremendous amount back from our taxes. I have been supporting welfare, unemployment and medicaid recipients for well over 20 years... but at least I have a road to drive on.

Tax evasion is the same as shoplifting. Everybody else has to pay for the stuff you steal.

No. Americans usually never read the Constitution and if they do they misquote it or misunderstand it.

[Prosecutors said Snipes'' case was important to send a message to would-be tax protesters not to test the government. ]

yes ... wouldn''t want to test those who are so right all of the time.

How did Wesley Snipes get more time than Michael Vick... Even when Vick tested positive for drugs prior to his sentencing... I guess not paying taxes is far more severe than animal cruelty... Go figure
