Top 10 worst mannered cities

Check out some of my other popular Top 10 lists: Top 10 cities for the rich and singleTop 10 cities for single women and the Top 10 cities for single men.

No matter where you live, you've probably encountered someone incredibly rude. They cut you off while driving, steal that parking space you've been waiting for, or cut in front of you while in line at the grocery store. It's annoying, but it's hard to avoid.

If dealing with obnoxious people isn't your strong suit, you'll probably want to avoid the following towns. They've been labeled the top 10 rudest cities in the country, according to Travel+Leisure Magazine.

On the other hand, if you have a hard shell and bad behavior doesn't bother you in the slightest, these cities aren't so bad. They offer plenty to do for singles and families alike -- just try to avoid a confrontation.

There is a lot of false info on the Internet that defends Chicago. From personal experiences, the #1 worst mannered city in not just the USA, but on the whole continent of North America (including the USA, Canada, and Mexico) is, yes you guessed correctly, Chicago, Illinois!

I have been living in the Los Angeles area for almost my entire life. The article states, "The average list price of a home here is more than $950,000." I do not know from what source the article obtained the "average list price", but there are many homes in the suburbs of Los Angeles which sell for substantially less than $950,000. For example, I purchased my residence in October 2008 for $172,000. I actually live within the City of Los Angeles.

I've been to most of those cities, and I'd put Houston ahead of any of them, not the older natives, but DEFINITELY the younger foreigners, who are numerous.

Actually, though, the rudest people I've ever come across are from small towns in the central US. The same is true of central Mexico and, to a lesser extent, central Canada. What's up with that?

I found New Yorkers surprisingly polite, especially considering all the tourist crap they have to put up with.

The nicest people I've come across in the last decade were in San Antonio, but since they now appear to be a tourist destination, I don't know if that's still the case. Funny how beautiful places are ruined by ugly Americans -- and that you don't have to leave the US to meet one.

All the cities mentioned are populous, and an international list certainly would include Paris and Tokyo. Bad manners are just another manifestation of a natural law. When atoms are compressed they generate heat.

Miami gets my vote. I spent a lot of time there in the eighties and always enjoyed it. But when I visited recently, I was just shocked at the unsophisticated and classless behavior of the citizens. Good case for limiting immigrants...............

So, looks like any major city where there is an influx of tourists. Gotta love that.
