(CBS News) The Newark, N.J. mayor who once rushed into a burning building to save a woman is at it again.

Happening upon an accident scene Thursday morning, Mayor Cory Booker leapt from his vehicle and sprinted to the aide of a man in his 50s who had been hit by a car and was bleeding heavily from the head. Booker and his detail were on their way back from a graduation ceremony where Booker had spoken.

As the pedestrian - who was unconscious when Booker arrived - came to, he recognized the man holding his hand and asked, "Are you Mayor Booker?" according to the mayor's office.

Booker has developed a reputation both in and outside his city as a man of action who often finds himself in the right place, at the right time. In April, he was treated for smoke inhalation and burns after rescuing a neighbor from her home that caught fire; prior to that, he was known for helping residents shovel snow from their driveways.

Someone should at least give him the cape....maybe he paid someone to run into a burning house, or get hit by a vehicle so he could help them out.

Hard to believe some people would question this....
