Sequester tracker: The first week

Despite dire warnings from President Obama and some of his cabinet officials, the sequester's budget cuts have had very little immediate impact on the day-to-day lives of the average American - yet. One week into the sequester, it's becoming clear that long-term, there will be a noticable impact among government workers and Americans who use government services.

Here are some areas already feeling hunger pangs from the budgetary crash diet - and some that managed to escape the fast so far.

Obama cuts tours of the White House, or the "Peoples House" which ABC said cost 20 thousand dollars a week and other reports that it cost 70,000 dollars per week, just to show folks that the sky will fall on school children and regular folks who want to visit the White House. Yet, it is estimated that the golf trip to Florida to play golf with wife cheater, Tiger Woods, cost about 3 million dollars. How sad for regular folks that Obama choose to punish regular folks who can't pay their way into the White House.

Well gee,

Sounds like the sequester may be dong some good, at least at the pentagon and TSA - But I sure wish the furloughs were replaced with salary cuts, so all of the officialdumb wouldn't have the chance to take some time off!

It is strange that the economy under Obama created more jobs last month, resulting in a drop in unemployment, as the sequester crisis unfolded in Washington.

Unfortunately those of us in the private sector have to pay for YOUR lifetime medical benefits and pensions, even as we struggle to buy our own insurance and save for our own retirement.

This cut seems easy enough, lets go for more cuts and maybe we can then keep some of what we earn?

I am certain that each and every person in America took a minimum of a 2% cut during the recession. What did everyone do?? Spent the amount of money they could afford by prioritizing expenses.

The tour closing was purely political by Obama to inflict as much visible pain as possible - does anyone really think it will save money that couldn't be EASILY saved elsewhere???

You mean like cutting back on Obama's vacation expenses? No, fat chance.
