Regina King on "Southland," moving past kid role
Regina King has come a long way from Brenda, a childhood role in the sitcom "227." She's now a real movie star with film credits including "Jerry Maguire" and "Ray."
These days, King is playing Los Angeles detective Lydia Adams in TNT's "Southland." On Friday, she won the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series for her work on that show.
King recalled on "CBS This Morning" to Erica Hill and Gayle King, "Ran into a guy and he said, 'Brenda done growed up.'"
And she has.
In her talk with on "CTM," King discussed the joys and challenges of being a mother and her four-year dating relationship with former "Cosby Show" star Malcolm-Jamal Warner. To catch all that and learn more about "Southland," which airs Tuesdays at 10/9c, watch the video in the player above.
