Trayvon Martin family lawyer reacts to Zimmerman tape

(CBS News) A lawyer for Trayvon Martin's family is reacting to newly-released audio of George Zimmerman, the man who shot the 17-year-old in February.

Attorney Ben Crump says questions from lead investigator Chris Serino's interrogation of Zimmerman are significant.

In the audio tape of the police interview with Zimmerman - a piece of evidence released along with video showing Zimmerman's re-enactment of the shooting - Serino points out possible inconsistencies in Zimmerman's story. He asks Zimmerman, "So you basically jumped out of the car to see which way (Martin) was going?" Zimmerman replies, "Yes, sir."

Serino responds, "That's not fear, you know what I mean. That's one of the problems I have with the whole thing."

Crump said, "Obviously, the lead detective did not believe Zimmerman, his credibility's a major issue. And yet, remember, it is only his version."

But Crump says the family believes all of the evidence in the case should come out. "They want all the evidence out because they know their son, they know the kind of child he was," Crump said.

Zimmerman's attorney Mark O'Mara posted the videos on his website. He says he did it because he wants the public to consider all the evidence in the case.

"My fear is that people have made up their minds on anger, hatred, predisposition on things, and that hurts the process," O'Mara said. "This process is going to work best when all the evidence has been reviewed and then people can make their decision."

Zimmerman is charged with second-degree murder. He's currently in a Florida jail with a bond hearing scheduled for next Friday.
