Report: Facebook has plan to let kids join site

(CBS News) Facebook Inc. is looking to tap a new market: kids.
Facebook eyes strict controls for under 13 access, report says
The Wall Street Journal reports the social media giant is developing technology that would allow children younger than 13 to use the site under parental supervision. Currently, kids under 13 are banned from the site.
The company is testing a way to connect kids' accounts with their parents', the paper reports, citing people who have spoken with Facebook executives.
The system would enable parents to decide who their children can "friend," what applications they can use, and may enable the company to charge parents for games and other entertainment their kids use.
