George Huguely Trial: the other man testifies

In the opening statements of the murder trial of George Huguely, the University of Virginia student accused of murdering his ex-girlfriend Yeardley Love, prosecutors showed an e-mail from Huguely that read, "When I found out about Mike Burns, I should have killed you."

Burns is the other man whose relationship with UVa. lacrosse star Love allegedly drove Hugely into fits of rage.

Burns, a former University of North Carolina lacrosse player testified Thursday. He admitted that he and Love hooked up during their college years, but never dated. He also testified that at a party three months before the murder, he barged into a room after hearing cries of "help me, help me."

He found Hugely with Love on the floor in a "choke hold" and "saw George's hands around Yeardley's neck." Hugely let go and love fled the room crying hysterically.

Jack Ford, CBS News legal analyst, said the prosecution is trying to show a pattern of conduct that could explain Huguely's alleged actions. "They've got to convince this jury that a guy who doesn't look like a killer, in an environment that doesn't lend itself to murder, is in fact a murder," Ford said.
