2 Virginia counties receive CDBG grants
RICHMOND, Va. — Virginia's Louisa and Southampton counties are getting Community Development Block Grants totaling more than $1.3 million.
Gov. Bob McDonnell announced grants Friday.
McDonnell says Louisa County was awarded a $622,000 grant to rehabilitate and replace homes damaged by last year's magnitude-5.8 earthquake.
A $700,000 grant was awarded to Southhampton County to support the construction of a wood pellet manufacturing center. McDonnell says the project is expected to create at least 64 jobs.
