Top 10 Cities for Single Men

  • Miami, FL - Balmy weather, a thriving nightlife, and teeny weeny polka dot bikinis are sure to pull in eligible bachelors. Enough said. The Miami-Ft. Lauderdale median home price is $182,000, which is 12.3 percent below last year. So, prices are affordable. Sales, by the way, are rising. So find your hot condo while there are plenty of them for sale.

Okay! Lets get to the point, what cities have the better ratio of women to men? So far the west coast is horrible. Where in the mid west or east coast can I find the single ladies? Everywhere I go (Seattle or Boise) I'd say 80% of the women are married. Thank you.:-( :-)

I've no idea why this article was listed among prominent CBS News stories since it's now four months old but as long as I'm here ....

Anyone else think a survey of how many men are renting/homeowners/living-at-home may not have terribly accurate results when it's conducted by RENT.COM?!?! And then comes the big reveal of the carefully selected cities and .........: the Top Ten Best Cities for Single Men just happens to include 7 of the 8 largest metropolitan areas in the U.S. In other words, by not applying any serious analysis to the question the producers of this list have come up with nearly the exact same list they could justifiably publish for the Ten Worst Cities for Single Men, Ten Best Places to Get Chinese Food, Ten Best Places to Find Women with Big Ankles, Ten Cities with the Best Movie Concession Stands, Ten Places You're Most Likely to Slip on a Sidewalk, etc. Seems like they randomly threw in San Antonio & Baltimore to try to provide some vague sense of legitimacy or significance to the list. (... though Baltimore does have some GREAT movie concession stands and particularly slippery sidewalks!) They failed.

(Mostly, i'm just bitter at having been led to a four-month old article that was on a silly subject to begin with and which I *thought* was gonna tell us single dudes where it's easiest to meet chicks!) =:~P

Love New Orleans and San Antonio.
If you chose New Orleans, be sure
to locate in the Vieux Carre, or
along St. Charles to the levy. Those
are the two areas which are the oldest,
because of their height and didn't flood
during Katrina. Better yet, check out the
    North Lake (Lake Pontchartrain) Parishes.
St. Tammany for luxury and Tangipahoa and
Livingston for towering pines and live oaks
on affordable and fertile land. Bienvenue!

Seems like Ms. Glink is either missing the forest for the trees, or doing a whole lotta wishful thinking on behalf of single American women shopping for Mr. Right. NEWS FLASH, the smarter, more savvy single men who have careers or portfolios juicy enough to let them shop around nowadays have settling down and providing a ready-made nest for a wishful wife waaaay down on their list of priorities. There are just so many opportunities for business/pleasure travel to much more hedonist-friendly places outside the U.S. (now that so many countries are growing faster than the U.S.), that anchoring yourself down with a mortgage and a wedding ring is just plain lame. I recall travelling between the Dominican Republic, the ABC islands and Venezuela to work during the '80s, '90s. Nice hotels were CHEAP. Man, what a BLAST.

well i bought a house last year because once you have a job you start thinking of tax write offs while paying off college debt.
yes there are some nice bars around baltimore, fells point, fed hill, etc. but a successful guy makes out like a champ with an area surrounded by white trash. so guys buy a house, keep your job, and enjoy the area. we are a rare commodity in an area where women are more successful than men and are looking for a good looking non lazy man.

the worst part about maryland is the taxes though, we should really mention that.

Boring boring boring.... I'm with saywhaaa here. Who cares what the price of rent or buy is... Single men should be the least affected by these factors than anyone. And why American cities??? Single men should get off their collective butts & take the opportunity to see the world. Can Baltimore compare to Bangkok?. No way... What about London or Sydney or Cape Town or Jakarta??
Get out there and get a life you blokes.

On what planet do single men worry about median house prices? Maybe one run by real estate agents. Get real. Put up a billboard advertising single women and night life and the men will come.
