Where Will The Olympians Hang Their Medals?

(MoneyWatch)  Gold, silver, bronze. The United States took home a record 37 medals at the recently concluded Olympic Games in Vancouver, Canada.

But where is all that bling going to be stored?

According to Shelterpop.com, Apolo Ohno, Shaun White and Bode Miller live in medal-worthy homes. (Click through to see photos!)

Ohno, who has won more medals at a winter Olympics than any other American, will have plenty of space to show off his 7 Olympic medals (2 gold, 2 silver, and 3 bronze) in his 4,467 square foot, 4-bedroom house in South Jordan, Utah, a suburb of Salt Lake City.

White owns a 5,226 square foot home in Rancho Santa Fe, California, which he bought for $3.35 million in 2006, according to Shelterpop.com. The 3-acre property has 6 bedrooms (White could easily make a bedroom into a medal room), 6 1/2 baths, an infinity-edge pool, and a four-car garage.

Miller owns a 2,451square foot house in Park City, Utah, close to the slopes and reportedly on the market for just under $500,000. Will he choose to create a medal room or a medal wall?

Contrast the dwellings of these Olympic champions with the monstrous houses some celebrities live in. Candy Spelling, widow of 90210 creator Aaron Spelling and mother of reality TV star and actress Tori Spelling, listed her 56,500 square foot house in Holmby Hills, Calif. for sale last year for $150 million.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the house is believed to have 100 rooms (Spelling says she never counted), and features an automated projection room, a bowling alley, a flower-cutting room, a wine cellar/tasting room, gift-wrapping room, silver storage room with humidity control. The property also contains a swimming pool with pool house, tennis court, a koi pond, gardens and a citrus orchard.

Even if Spelling's house had a medal room, I'm not sure she'd be able to find it.
