(MoneyWatch)  Spirit flight attendants fight uniform logos -- Spirit Airlines flight attendants are fighting new uniforms which include a beer logo-strewn apron, saying it's inappropriate and diminishes their authority to cut off inebriated customers. "Turning flight attendants into walking billboards is unacceptable," said Deborah Crowley, president of Spirit's flight attendants union chapter. The union also said that the logos make it difficult for passengers to take them seriously in an emergency situation. Spirit could not be reached for comment. [Source: Detroit News]

Delta plans new fare structure at Cincinnati airport -- Delta Air Lines announced its plans to roll out a new fare structure for Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport, one of the "weakest geographic areas" for the airline, according to CEO Richard Anderson. While no details were given on the new fares, Anderson said he expected to see improvement at one of the country's most expensive airports. Greyhound bus driver fights off attacker -- A Greyhound Bus Line driver on a route from Detroit to Toronto fought off a passenger trying to grab his steering wheel in traffic near Windsor, Ontario on Tuesday. Bus driver Doug Leddy, 51, managed to pull off onto the shoulder, steering the bus with one hand and holding off the passenger with the other, before stopping and then pushing the 46-year-old man out of the bus. Some reports indicate the passenger was diabetic and hadn't taken his insulin. [Source: UPI, Globe and Mail]

Complaining customer tapped as Virgin Atlantic food tester -- A Virgin Atlantic passenger who wrote a letter to chief executive Richard Branson complaining about Virgin's airline food was tapped by Branson to select meals for future flights. The letter-writer, a passenger on a Dec. 7 flight from Mumbai to London, wrote a letter that made its way to the Internet, complete with photos of the offending food. Branson called the writer inviting him to come to the airline's catering division next month to test out food. So far, the passenger hasn't taken Branson up on his offer. [Source: Telegraph (U.K)]
