Travel Roundup: Princess Unveils Hawaii, Delta Adds Bag Surcharge, TSA Eases Restrictions and More
(MoneyWatch) Princess Cruises unveils new Hawaii itinerary -- Princess Cruises added 14 new cruises in Hawaii, but tourism officials still say that even with the added voyages, cruise ship tours are expected to drop by a quarter next year. For the 2008-2009 season, Princess will be offering 14-day round-trip cruises from Los Angeles that will sail through April 2009. [Source: Honolulu Advertiser]
Delta junks fuel surcharge, aligns/adds one for baggage -- Delta Airlines announced it would begin charging customers $15 for the first checked bag and $25 for the second checked bag on all domestic flights, including Northwest Airlines flights, after Dec. 5. [Source: Delta]
TSA may ease liquid restrictions -- The Transportation Security Administration reported that passengers may be able to carry liquids on planes next year because better security X-ray machines will soon be able to spot dangerous fluids. [Source: USA Today]
Foreclosed San Jose, Calif. hotel sold -- Gramercy Capital Corp. sold San Jose's Hotel Montgomery to New Delhi-based Khanna Enterprises for an undisclosed price. The 86-room hotel had been open since 1911, until it was renovated in 2004. [Source: Hotel Business, Silicon Valley Business Journal]
